Description: Set on the Ping River, Paak Dang offers a beautiful dining experience in a 2 story Lanna Style Teak Wood house. We serve authentic Thai food that will tickle and tantalise the tastebuds of both the Thai local palate and our friends from all over the world. The open concept kitchen run by led by Chef K-Jin offers a full Thai menu with something to suit each and every single person. Paak Dang has also been set up with a mission and vision - to provide employment to the less privileged from the neighbouring villages and hilltribes and currently has a team of more then 20 staff catering to a 60 seat restaurant. With a wealth of experience between them, the owners of Paak Dang, K-Jin & K-Lin both work hand in hand to equip their staff with many important life skills. Open for dinner daily with a serene and beautiful setting on the Ping River. Reservations highly recommended for the best tables by the river. Come and have an unforgettable dining experience at Paak Dang!

Excellent riverside restaurant in Chiang Mai with a traditional Thai menu and specialty dishes from eastern and northern Thailand. The food was delicious, great view of the river, beautiful outdoor lighting, well designed property with warm colors and Thai decor.

Visited here on our honeymoon during a 3 week trip round thailand, good quality food that won't break the bank, it's on the river so nice views although was dark when we went so not the best for us. Service was pretty slick although starters come in 5 items per plate, ie 5 spring rolls so doesn't really work when sharing between 2, minor gripe really. My only complaint was getting eaten alive by ants and mosies but hey u dine out by a river expect a few of these. Just lacked a bit of the super Thai friendliness we found in other places ie Dash.

Thanks a lot for your review. We will work on the things which are possible. As you write it is not easy to avoid all ants at the river...For the little spring rolls at apitezer we buy the most best available quality on the market ! And five pieces to share ? Thats not easy, but the starter is per person... anyway I think you had a nice evenening and we hope to see you again.

We "splurged" and took the $5 tuk tuk ride to this restaurant. The location is in a lovely neighborhood that, based on numbers of folks on the street, waiting to get into clubs, etc., has quite a lot of activity. The restaurant has two levels: one inside and one out, overlooking the river. The place is charming. There were only two other tables filled, although the hostess told us we were lucky to go on Sat. night, as Friday had an hour wait. We ate outside, overlooking the river. It was romantic and calming. We arrived during the last set of the evening's singer, who was pretty good and sang songs in English. OK, for the food: I ordered the whole fish, and my husband ordered a mango salad or some sort. The fish was delectable. The fish actually was reconstructed, as pieces of fillet had been sauteed with herbs and then reconstructed whole. It was a beautiful presentation and easy to eat. The mango dish also was perfect. A definite recommend.

We had a good, romantic and cheap dinner here. Including red wine but the bill totally only 7000bath. You need to ask for mosquitoes spray to avoid the less romantic dinner ;). The owner is friendly. Good to try!!!!!
