Dozy House is a great, affordable option for accommodation in the old city area of Chiang Mai. The hotel had just what we needed: clean rooms with closets and locked storage areas for our belongings, and working A/C.

The lady at the front desk, Gina, is what really makes Dozy House a special home away from home. She really takes care of her customers. She gave great recommendations on places to eat and activities to do while in Koh Tao. In particular, she personally arranged for our elephant trek by phone.

If you're coming to Chiang Mai, I highly recommend staying at Dozy House.

I stayed here in January of this year, and honestly could not have had a better experience. Jina is wonderful - warm and attentive - and has outstanding customer service. She booked my two friends and I an elephant riding excursion and a cooking class without any hassle or issues. She arranged for transport to, and from, the airport and gave great advice on places to eat and things to do.

The hostel is clean, well maintained, and in a good location in the old city. I was able to walk to wherever I needed to go (though, if you don't feel like walking, Jina provides bicycles and motorbikes for rental). In room lockers are provided and the shower was warm with good water pressure. Dozy House also provides a laundry service and complimentary tea and bread! I was so happy with the amenities.

A+ stay, would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here April 2013. The staff is very helpful and friendly and would do anything to make your stay comfortable. The location was good in the old City and was only a few minutes walk to a busy strip of town with many restaurants. Our room was clean, big and the AC worked awesome!! There is a little kitchen area where you can have toast, jam, coffee etc... in the morning for free and in the front a fridge that you can buy beer, water and pop from. The value for money is good. Beds are hard but that seems to be the norm in Thailand.

Hi,

I stayed at Dozy house for about 9 days in October 2012. Jina is a very friendly host and always makes sure you have a comfortable stay. She knows the best restaurants and places where you can eat and arranges tours and activities on request. Overall I had a very pleasant experience.

I stayed 3 nights at the dozy house. It's situated in the old town of Chiang Mai but it's a bit out of the way from most of the places to be. It's just a 15-20 min walk away tho'. I would say it's not the best place to be if you are travelling by yourself cause it's not a very social place. It's nice for couples or guys who travel together but I would prefer a hostel to meet people if you are just by yourself. Anyways - the staff is really helpful and friendly (especially regarding tour&activity bookings). The rooms are airconditioned and clean and come with an ensuite bathroom and a tv. Furthermore free breakfast (toast, jam, tee&coffee) is provided the entire day 24/7. It's really quite at night and I had a pleasant stay. The price for a doublebed-room was 850 B/night.

We had arrived in Chiang Mai with a basic idea of what we wanted to do, but nothing set in stone. After coming from the train station and checking in, Gina was extremely helpful in giving recommendations for things to do, places to go with, etc. She even called and helped us inquire about group rates and discounts and answered all one million of our questions. We booked the 6 bed mixed dorm, and the rooms were simple and clean, and definitely quiet at night. Another plus is that you can make your own breakfast in the morning (toast, coffee, tea were free, eggs had a small charge). They can also arrange for a car service to the train station.

Location-wise, this was a bit far from the nightlife area (bars and bazaar both), but you could easily walk to the main street and find a songthaew to rent.

Overall, would definitely recommend this place!

First off we have never stayed in less than a 4* hotel when doing any travels but tried this after all of the great reviews so this was a pleasant first and will be hard to live up to.... we arranged through hotel to be picked up from our flight for 120 baht... arrived at the hotel and was warmly greeted and given the run down.... before we retired to our rooms Gina made sure that if we wanted to do any activities or attractions that we knew our choices and values which was great and as it turns out she makes nothing over what they charge direct to do this she simply does it to make sure your stay in chiang mai over all is great. We also arrange airport car back to the airport with her and really her and her family made our whole chiang mai experience WONDERFUL

Room Tip: i think all of the rooms get the noise from the school next door... which is ok because who wants to...
