“A surprise in the city of temples”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We were advised to visit the temple and were glad we did. Small in area but big in history. Looking at the chedi and seeing the how it has been built without a bit of cement to be seen in the shaping and it is still standing after all this time. I felt the bhudda was peaceful in the lighting of the image and spent a good while meditating in serene surroundings.

“One of the oldest temples”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

A Buddhist temple with wooden facade is really old-fashioned and interesting. The place is really calm and peaceful with amazing sculptured Nāgas. It was built in the 16th century and has a big history. The temple is situated in the old part of the city in far from the Chang Phuak city gate. It is not so rich decorated like other temples but has their own charm.

“Not just another temple!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Wat Lok Molee is our second favourite temple after Wat Jedi Luang. There's a lot to see in this temple, not many tourist, so the atmosphere is good.

“One of my favourite wats”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

This is not a smart or tourist centric temple, rather a simple local temple with a lovely calm atmosphere, albeit only just off the moat. We go here regularly for a re-charge of the batteries and to look at the elephant statues, hence our referring to this among ourselves as "the elephant temple".

If you want to see a proper temple, rather than one of the wealthy and tourist filled examples, this is a great place to go.

Note that the TA map puts this on the east side of the moat, whereas it is on the north side.
