“A pleasant surprise”
Reviewed November 23, 2013 via mobile

Its a boutique hotel which has managed to maintain an upmarket feel to it. The staff was very welcoming and the rooms were spacious, very clean, very well equipped including a small kitchen, international tv channels, bedside touch screen light controls, spacious bathroom and a balcony overlooking garden by the river.

The location is not far from night market and they provide free shuttle service daily.

Downside:

Breakfast choice was limited and very thai breakfast with tomyum soup for breakfast.

Lunch or Dinner menu needs a major change as nothing seems appetising.

We were impressed by the layout and decoration and view from our room. The restaurant staff was great and attentive, just a shame that reception staff is rude and uncoordinated. Example: i asked for late and their immediate response was No and then the reason. My husband asked 3 min later and they said: ok, but then they called our room at 12 pm asking if they should send the bell boy in 10 min!! We had check out at 12:30!!! And they woke up my baby!!! By 12:15 my husband wasn't able to get into the room!!! When we asked for taxis during our stay they would charge us extra from the normal fair or say, taxis are busy, but you can use the hotel car and it turned out to be a regular taxi!! What a shame for their reputation!!!

First & Foremost I would like to thank you for giving us an opportunity to accommodate you while you are in Chiang Mai. Regarding to your commend about the co-operation that received from our Guest Service Agent that was not satisfied you, please accept my sincere apologies on this matter.

Kindly be informed that normally check out time is 12.00 noon and check in time is 02.00 pm. however we always flexible to the requirement for a late checkout subject to our room availability. We stayed 6 nights and held a conference for 2 days at the Sheik. I would not stay any other place in Chiang Mai, which I have visited 5 times. General Manager Uttamanakoon went out of his way to meet our needs, even going to a computer store himself to buy a cord to use for the projector. Staff was excellent including the charming Noona. Every housekeeper and staff person greeted you with a sincere smile. Being a bit outside the city center is a big plus after a busy day. It is very quiet. If you are a walker, you can walk to the city center as it is only 3-4 ks, but sidewalks are a bit lacking for that. Good way to work off the phad thai. Room service always came in 20 minutes or less. Great restaurant nearby within one block on the river. Rooms have all you could ask for.

Room Tip: All rooms face the river and the wat on the other side, which is lit up in the evening.

Would stay here again and recommend to others. Efficient friendly staff, great rooms, garden and pool. We booked at very short notice for one night only but wished we could have stayed longer. Unusual but lovely Moroccan style hotel with beautifully tended garden and gorgeous swimming pool. View of the river and only 10 mins from Chiang Mai airport and the same from town.

this place is a must for those that travel to this northern province in Thailand. only a few years old it is boutique style with 35 rooms all overlooking a tranquil river just outside of the city...10 minute cab ride for $5 us to the city...breakfasts were awesome and the staff was to die for...ask for " Noon," as he is the concierge and will take care of all your needs...everyone here was great and made our stay most enjoyable...the rooms were spotless and the linens and towels always fresh..bed to die for and hot water galore...we ate dinner here once and it was delicious....for $80 US...it was nice to come home after a day of shopping in the city or sightseeing and feeling dirty and sticky...highly recommended by us as we make our way by taxi to Chiang Rai, to the north..they set this trip up for us as well..namastum...WILLIAM DACEY

Room Tip: we stayed in room # 303 and it was fine..and quiet, facing the sunrise and an ancient temple..

Hotel service is very impressive. Pleasant to guests throughout the hotel. Atmosphere and environment in Morocco, I pretty much like it is pretty much the deluxe room stay. Stamp everything the hotel.
