The tea house is situated at the back of a beautiful old timber building on Tha Pae Road. It makes for a very satisfying afternoon; browse the beautiful selection of well priced ceramics in the front showroom, then wander out the back to the tearoom. There is a selection of lovely iced teas and small meals. I recommend the soft spring rolls - not made of spring roll wrappers but pancakes filled with fresh zingy salad herbs and served on celadon dishes with a sharp and delicious sauce. It is possible to while away an afternoon here - very civilised!

I was intorduced ot Raming Tea House about 12 yers ago. It is my ltitle sanctuary for a respite from the concrete, heat and noise of Chiang mai. You pay for this lovely ambience but it is good value for your money. My Americanao will have cost me 60 Baht plus 10% service charge. The normal price of an Americano in Chiang Mai runs from 35 to 45 Baht. The Baht hovers around 30 to the North American dollar.
The owners have gretly expanded the number of tables in the garden from even the Spring of 2012 when I was last here.
It is a welcomed enhanced use of this beautiful space . Previously, space was a premium. even so as I write this rreview at Ramming Tea Hous eand look around me I see mostly a small sea fo white middle age faces with a springling of Asian faces here and there. The Asians I noticed prefer to be inside the buidling which is extremely tastefully decorated, evoking memories of colonial times soften with Thai Asia touches.
The shade from the tall graceful green foliage provides shade and coolness. It feels like one is in the midst of a very civilized jungle indeed -safe and comfortable.
It's early afternoon and theri is no evdence of mosquitoes. That is indeed a good sign. Perhaps being here before Sundown is a good idea.
There is an abudance of smiling , graceful Thai service personnel floating about-both men and women.
The service was not not Johnny on the spot ;but one comes to the Tea Garden to linger and languish for some time so as the Thais say," Mai pien Lai"or "never mind". Meanwhile I had a chance to unfold the daily, "Bangkok Post " and catch up on what is happening outside and insdie the Kingdom.
There is a very beautiful and pracitical set of toilets and wash basins on the premises.
Raming Tea Garden your refuge and respite from busy Chaing Mai awaits you. Enjoy.

A cup of tea, a glass of fresh juicy or just a piece of finger sandwiches is our highlight in the afternoon. Nice garden, good service, good tea-set with reasonable price. Recommend to be there at least once for the Chiang Mai holiday. Definitely go again and again!

Enjoyed this place a lot - food was very good and the tea was excellent - lots of tea choices. Nice to look at the Celadon pottery they had for sale and the building had a nice, old ambience. Worth going!

Lovely building and nice ambiance. The service was good, which is a nice surprise when in Thailand. The teas and shakes were very nice, as was the waffle. Lots of biting things so wear spray.
