“Personal, attentive cookery class”

Tu greeted us with a big smile. We were allowed to complete the lesson in our own time. Their was no pressure to rush. Furthermore, our teacher was funny and entertaining! She took time to understand our knowledge of Thai food and extend that knowledge. The school accomodated very well for vegetarians! It was an amazing experience and would highly reccomend it!

“Excellent choice!”

This was an incredibly experience! The teacher was so helpful and calm guiding our class through the steps and explaining everything along the way. Food turned out to be some of the best Thai food we've had in Thailand. Highly reccomended!

“Wonderful Culinary Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

Although there was a slight delay with the pickup, I was eventually picked up and taken to the cookery school where I met the hostess and other people in the evening group. There were five of us altogether and after selecting four dishes from the menu each, off we set with baskets in hand to the local market. This was really educational as there were many vegetables I didn't know existed and of course had no-one to ask. Our hostess Moon made our purchases and we carried them home to start preparing our dishes. The instructions were all very clear and we all thoroughly enjoyed the preparation and cooking of the various dishes, which we also then got to eat. Signing up for the afternoon/evening class was recommened on Trip Advisor and it is great advice as the heat during the day 38 - 40 degrees would be really off-putting to the hearty eating of these delicious dishes. At the end we each received a certificate of course completion and a beautifully presented cookery book so we can make the same recipes at home. It really was a great way to learn a little about the food and cooking and to enjoy your dinner at the same time. I originally booked with the Oriental Cuisine Cookery School but they seem to be connected so that probably accounted for the initial delay in being collected.

“Really Great Day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

My Husband and I had a really nice day out with others from all over the world! Our group included people from around America, The U.K, Taiwan, and us- the Aussies. A really fun group to spend the day with. Kat was our instructor and she was great! Her English was great and she really knew how to cook! At the start you get to tick which choices you would like to make- I would suggest if you are there with a friend/partner- choose different things, as then you get to share a bigger variety! We went off to the market with our baskets and were taken to a few little stalls where Kat showed us the ingredients we would be using. We then got to look around the local market and buy a drink! Then it was time to cook! This was awesome! Kat spent time showing us how to do it, and each recipe was so authentic! We ate each course in between our cooking and it really was one of the best Thai foods we ate in Thailand. The class went over time- but we didn't mind, had no where else to be that afternoon! We didn't get the free ride back to our hotel as we found that it was only a 3 minute walk back to our hotel at the Thapae Gate. Great location :) The certificate and recipe book that they print off for you individually is such a nice touch! Such an awesome home experience that we will never forget.

“Loved It.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

I was convinced to do this with my better half and after some initial reservations, we had a wonderful evening. Considering the time involved, the pick-up/drop-off and amount of food it is nothing short of phenomenal value, even for Thailand.
There may be more polished classes in Chiang Mai but I have to say I loved the home cooking and family aspect to this school.
We ran a little over time but that made it all the more enjoyable, I tend to try and do too much anyway so it was good to kick back and chat to fellow class mates over a beer (BYO).
All in all a very good experience, just need to get that book out and put it into practice!
