We have just returned from an amazing time in Thailand. Pat and Vinai made us discover an area of Northern Thailand you can only really see by joining them: Vinai was a very careful driver and always attentive to our needs. I will never forget that young man and hope to do another tour with them during our next trip. Pat, our guide, took us places we would never have seen on our own or if we had, we wouldnt have understood the way the hilltrives live and work. He s a very experienced guide and always anxious to see you happy and enjoying your holiday.
We saw amazing scenery, met local people, felt really close to them, sampled local cuisine. They knew just where to take us and very importantly: unlike many tourist agencies they did not take us where we didnt want to go: we never at any time felt we were just tourists!!
We have returned home enriched from these few days and already wanting to go back and do another tour with them. Thank you Winai and Pat and thank you also Melissa for making these few days unforgettable!!

My husband and I went on the five day tour with Thailand Hilltribe Holidays as part of our honeymoon and we had an incredible and unforgettable adventure.

Our guide and driver, Pat and Winai, were very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw incredible places, ate amazing locally sourced food and have memories that we will cherish forever.

My wife and I and our two kids (4 and 6 years old) had a great 3 day trip with Pat and Winai. The whole family really enjoyed it. Highly recommendable - also for families with young kids.

On behalf of our group of 4, I wish to let you know how much we enjoyed spending time with A our guide, and Aod our driver (pronounced Ot). We really appreciated the time and effort that you put into assisting us with our trip. We came away from our 5 day trip with more knowledge and life experience than we imagined possible.

A and Aod are true assets to your business and tourism for Northern Thailand!!! The boys willingness to cater for our needs and personalities were amazing! Within the first day, we felt like we had been friends for a very long time, we felt comfortable and safe at all times.

The itinerary was perfect for us, we were never bored, always looking forward to the next stop, and disappointed that we had to leave the previous.

Our favourite moments included experiencing the markets, interacting with locals, eating LOTS and LOTS of fabulous food, the homestay and being awake at 3am to interact with the locals and offer food to the Monks in A’s hometown who had been mediating for 3 full months.

None of us got car sick, the car travel was well balanced with plenty of stops. The boys were happy for us to boss them around when we needed to purchase drinks, grab street snacks and visit toilets. The boys even let us girls sleep in while they went for an early morning fish with ‘our boy’.

I am already planning on coming back in the next 12 months to do a modified Chiang Rai trip, and will be very pleased to see Aod working as a guide, as I will definitely request to travel with him. I would LOOVVEEE to go on another trip with both boys, they are a great team matchup!

A - We were very impressed with A’s English skills, his local knowledge, and his desire to engage us. Communicating with him was easy, and we had many many funny moments where we compared languages and learnt new words. He had a brilliant sense of humour, and we spent a lot of time laughing uncontrollably in the 4WD.

We loved A’s natural ability to interpret and ask questions on our behalf. Nothing was too difficult, and A was always careful and diligent in his approach with locals. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting his family and friends in his local town, it made us feel important and accepted.

AOD - We see a massive amount of potential with Aod being a guide for your company, he is very professional, has a great sense of humour, is organised, and even though his English skills were less than A’s, he had a great desire to communicate and did very well at it. Aod worked very well with A, he was like a sponge, listening and learning at all times.

Aod’s driving skills were great, there were a couple of times where other drivers were erratic on the windy roads, and Aod calmly avoided any issues from occurring.

Thank you Melissa, Pat, A and Aod, our lives are forever changed because of the time spent with you. See you very soon!!

Pat collected us from the airport when we arrived and we immediately started our Chaing Rai 3 day tour. Pat is very knowledgeable of the area and as some other reviewers have mentioned you get a customised experience. Pat wants to ensure that you enjoy your trip and will always ask you what you want to do if there are choices. He is also very keen to show off local restaurants, where you get very good food for very reasonable rates.
As well as showing us some parts of Thailand that we wouldn't have seen if we'd been on a 'commercial' tour he was also keen to tell us about the community, some of their problems and some of their achievements - it was very interesting and thought provoking. We stayed at some good, reasonably priced hotels on the way (recommended by Melissa), and saw some amazing sights - too many to mention. Definitely recommend this tour!
We stayed on in Chiang Mai for another couple of nights, my only regret was that we didn't ask Melissa for recommended hotel before we came (we just booked something we saw off the internet) - because we probably could have booked somewhere just as nice at a lower price if we'd asked for a suggestion.
Altogether a very unique and unforgettable experience! .... and thanks Pat for all your photos on the memory stick - a great 'extra' we hadn't expected.
