Have stayed in this hotel for a week and have been pleased with our choice. A short walk from the old city and its attractions, or the night market in the other direction. Staff very friendly and eager to please. Cannot hear any noises from streets, but doors slamming within hotel can be a small problem. Breakfast selection is more than adequate, although dining room is on the small side. Would recommend this hotel to anyone not on a strict budget.

De chai is a great boutique hotel, in a very peaceful yet central location. We stay on a double room apartment, which is a great solution for big families. Walking distance to the night bazaar. Small pool. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast.

Given the cost of this hotel I felt it was great value.

The location is ideal for both the weekday market and the Sunday market with both only 5 minutes walk away. On the way back from either you pass restaurants, pharmacy, 7-11, a couple of temples and a selection of massage places.

My only criticism is that they need a little more storage space in the room, it was a little awkward to unpack and there was nowhere to put your stuff after a long day out exploring.

After checking out I left my phone in the lobby while waiting for a taxi to the airport. I didn't realize until we'd already checking in for our flight so I called the hotel who sent a guy out to drop it off straight away. When they got there they refused to take payment and when I finally convinced them to take my money they were all smiles and thank yous.

We stayed here from 4-7 Aug 2013 in a grand deluxe room. The hotel is in a small alley, but this doesnot affect you locate this hotel. It is very convenient and only 5 mins walk to the Sunday Night Bazaar. The room is really big and the bathroom is spacious! The bathtub is clean and walk out from alley opposite is a herb store selling bath salts. It feels good to soak in the bathtub end of the day. The staff are very friendly. The provide spa in basement also, not bad. The breakfast area is small but have a fair choice for breakfast. Overall, the room is really worth the money spent. Btw, the hotel does not have/provide adapter, if your charger is not small 2 ends (Great Britain style i think), you can either bring one or buy one from 7-eleven outside.

Room Tip: Corner room is sunny and quiet.

Stayed here for 7 nights and was very happy with the hotel. Pool area is small but nice with a spa section. We found breakfast more than adequate for choice and quality.
Husband left phone on table when we checked out and we massively panicked at the airport but finally worked out how to use the pay phone system and the staff couriered it out to us in time for our flight. Above and beyond my expectations.

I stayed there from 21-23th July 2013. Got a free upgrade to Suite room. Overall the room was huge for just two of us. Interior still brand new . 2 years old . Quite secluded but not difficult to find. Near walking distance to Sunday night bazaar. About 7mins walk. And walking distance to morning bazaar too. Buffet breakfast not much choices. Skipped the breakfast and went for hainanese chicken rice. Coffee is a must. The taste there is marvellous..Go for Wawee or Black Canyon Coffee Shop. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Our family of 3 kids and 2 adults booked the Family suite which consists of 2 interconnecting rooms each with a locking door and a common bathroom. Rooms are huge, with modern amenities. Very powerful air conditioning which is essential in Chiangmai's scorching climate. Large bathtub to soak in is an additional enjoyment. Breakfast area is rather small, food is of reasonable standards. Hotel itself is quite small, but cosy. Service staff were polite, and helpful to assist in the arrangements of day trips to the attractions in Chiangmai. Hotel is located within a 10 min walk to the old city, where we can attend the Sunday bazaar market.

A minor grouse is that the swimming pool water is very cold to the point of shivering .

Overall still a contender for high recommendation.
