This hotel met our most basic criteria, which are location, cleanliness and sleep quality. However, it didn't really provide anything much extra. The room was spacious and modern and nicely decorated, but the decor is nothing special and appeared to be quite superficial.
The location was really great - kind of in between the Thapae Gate (east gate of the Old City) and the Night Bazaar, so most of the main sights in Chiang Mai city itself was within a convenient walking distance. The breakfasts were very unexciting - the food was boring and not well made (I ended up sticking to muesli and yoghurt everyday) and the staff, although not rude, were disinterested and looked miserable to be there.
In room wifi was almost non-existent - it was really difficult to get a connection, but wifi was fine in the lobby and breakfast room.
I didn't care about the pool, but for those who do, it was more like a water feature than an actually swimming pool.
The mosquitoes at the hotel were BAD. Our room was on the 2nd floor, which is probably worse than some of the higher floors, but our room had about a dozen mossies in it when we checked in. It was so bad that we immediately went to get inspect spray from the 7-11 around the corner and gave the room a thorough spray. We also hung the 'do not disturb' sign at our door for our whole stay so that housekeeping didn't need to clean our room and leave our door open for more mossies to come in.
Overall, it was a good stay at this hotel as the basics are covered. But I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel if you think you'll be getting little extras.
