I simply can't gush enough about this place! Right off the road but once you walk in, it's like you've entered an oasis that is so peaceful and beautiful. Rooms are large and lovely; staff are simply amazing - they go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable; breakfast was lovely and location is also ideal. Several restaurants nearby but away from the noisy bar areas. So easy to get around with the tuk-tuks. The only problem was the water heater which would go from ice cold to scalding hot in seconds....the management should really see to that. Other than that, simply perfect!

The Rim is a small, boutique hotel. Beautiful and calm. The staff was very helpful and the room service promt. We had the junior suite which was amazing and we didn't want much more from the hotel. Located on the top floor, big bathroom, jaccuzi, minibar, coffeemachine, big balcony, big plasma, dvd... beautiful interior. If you usually like to hang out in the hotel, there isn't much going on. The food was really good. It feels like they could attract more people with this beautiful building, more entertainment in the evenings for example. The pool was not appealing to the children, the gym was a tiny room with a running machine. The only thing I didn't like was the quality of the breakfast, could be improved.

Room Tip: The junior suite!

We stayed here on two seperate occasions during our trip for three days total. The customer service is excellent, the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, the rooms were so comfy and big. Both times ours looked over the pool which provided such a soft trickling water sound at night. The location is ideal, just a quick taxi ride and you're in the city. There's a local laundry place across the street that will wash your clothes by the pound. Super cheap and they did a great job, everything was clean and smelled great!

It's very good value and we enjoyed our stay, it's not the Chedi but neither is the price. Staff are very nice and friendly all taking time to chat to the children, breakfast was good and the omelette was dine to perfection. I liked the hotel a lot and would be more than happy to stay again. Great value and good location

A really interesting complex and with under 40 rooms it has an exclusive feel.
Room was very well equipped and cleaned to a fantastic standard.
The grounds were very well managed and beautifully planted. The buildings looked aged, not sure if this was intentional but I felt it added to the ambiance.
The Butler service isn't really a Butler service but the staff were very attentive and I'm sure you could have got more from the services if you needed or wanted to.
The bar and restaurant areas were generally quiet and you often had to ring for service but it was quick and efficient so no complaints.
The staff were extremely courteous and truly nothing seemed too much of an ask. At times "getting it right" i.e. Seating you in front of the reception desk to change a 1000Bhat note seemed a little too formal and staged but I'd prefer that to indifference so again, no complaint.
Possibly located a little off the beaten track but the perimeter road is right outside and nothing was more than 100Bhat Tuk-Tuk ride away.
All in all, very little to find that's negative.

Room Tip: Rooms with a pool view are nice and quiet, set a little further back from the road. Ground floor ro...

I give this 5 out of 5 based on value for money and room size. After looking for a nice Thai style hotel to accommodate 2 adults & 2 children we came across The Rim Resort at a good price of around £80 per night inc extra bed & cot & breakfast, compared to similar standard of hotel, this was good value for money. The standard room is also 40 square metre, which is a very good size and worked well for our family. The hotel is Thai style and has a rustic feel to it which we liked, some people may not. The staff are very nice and friendly, they made a fuss over our 2 year old blonde boy which he loved. The hotel also provided a birthday cake for my daughters 11th birthday which was a lovely touch too. The only negative I would say is the wooden flooring around the pool is VERY slippery when wet or getting out if the pool, my little boy fell several times.....maybe management can put some sort of matting down to help with this. Overall a very enjoyable stay with a big thank you to the staff (lady with short hair especially) for making it a memorable stay for my little boy :)

About a four year old hotel done in the traditional lanna style of architecture. The pool is small and not much sun hits it so it is a bit cold. The rooms are large and decorated well with a balcony. The location is very good, while located in the old city it is quiet. We have made about ten trips to Thailand and nine to Chaing Mai, so we have tried a lot of hotels.Unfortunately this is our last trip to Chaing Mai as it is now too touristy and all of the prices at the night bazaar are now doubling or more on the arts and crafts that you can buy the same thing in Bangkok for half the price. It used to be the other way around. Do go to the Sunday market in Chaing Mai though.

Room Tip: I would pick upper floors away from the pool.
