We arrived in Chiang Mai from a 5 start hotel in the centre of Bangkok and the Rim was exactly what we needed to feel like we were away from the city. The hotel is conveniently located close to town but feels quiet and isolated once you enter the gates.

The rooms are slightly dated but the hotel itself is a lovely building. The service is good although not many staff are around the pool area to serve you and you often have to go looking for them however anytime you deal with them it's an absolute pleasure. As with most people we met in Chiang Mai the staff are absolutely lovely people always smiling and trying to help accomodate you.

The pool is nice although it is not heated and therefore you cant really swim much in the water.

The food was lovely too although the outside sitting area looks onto the road which is less than convenient. The location is good however nothing is really within a reasonable/convenient walking distance.

I was tempted to give the hotel a 4* rating however when i think about it this would have mostly been due to how much we enjoyed our trip to Chiang Mai. When i consider the hotel itself then it was slightly lacking as a hotel but as a base its great and it was very well priced.

Very good design makes you feel here comfortable.
Actually pool and gym are to small to be serious taken but large superior rooms make the balance. Good brekfast and service. This small hotel is very well located in centre of Chiangmai.
One thing I don't like is the to noisy aircon I have to switch off at nighgt to be capable to sleep. No problem with this for Asian tourists so the hotel is highly frequented by Chinese. You can observe growing Chinese middle class on vacation.

Not sure if we got an upgrade, but its one of the best hotel rooms we've stayed in so far. Small boutique hotel, stylish in the old part of the city by the moat. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and very knowledgable. Would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful small hotel in Thai style, nice design hotel. You feel like you 're staying in lots of luxury and a stylish environment, but the nice thing about it is, that it's against a very fair price, so price/quality relationship is excellent. Hotel is a haven of peace while situated in such a buzzling city like Chiang Mai. We, and our two young children, especially enjoyed the beautiful pool.Hotel has high quality standards in everything. Breakfast is all freshly prepared, especially the noodles were delicious and highly appreciated by us. Further, hotel offers free shuttle to night market. Very friendly and highly skilled staff. Should the opportunity arise, we'll definitely go back here to this little gem in Chiang Mai.

We stayed 4 nights at the rim resort (it´s too much, the weather is terrible there!) and we were a bit disappointed. We payed our room quite a lot for Thailand and it was just ok. But it was not really the hotel s fault. We had terrible neighbours (noisy family) it was hard to sleep or relax by the pool at the end of the afternoon after a long day of visit.
The breakfast is not great compare to other hotels in the country ( juices are not homemade for example).
The room is quite small, the bed is huge, the balcony is nice, the bathroom is nice and clean but it needed some renovation (look at the picture of the dirty wall). The housekeeping did their job perfectly. The front desk is also helpful. But the drivers are very expansive (quite a swindle).
We were a bit desappointed compare to the price we paid.

Small hotel which is well maintained and friendly. Pool area attractive and clean but quite small. Rooms are good and modern. I know there is a butler service advertised but I'm not sure what that means - I didn't really see evidence of it. I liked how peaceful it was though everything needed a taxi - about 80bht to the market area - or the resort bus which drops you to the bazaar. Nothing much close by except a very convenient laundry next door! Really recommend the weekend walking street but didn't see the attraction of the bazaar. Good shopping centre near airport.

The rim resort was a beautiful place to stay in a very charming town. The staff was very accommodating. It is located within the old city walls but on the quieter side of town. If you are looking to be in the center of activity this is not it. But if you want a quiet retreat it is very beautiful and there is a shuttle every night to the night market and stuff on other side of town.
