“Not a big, but a perfect one”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

The Rim Resort Chiangmai is a place in the middle of the old town, not far away from a lot of attractive places - short distance to go with a "Tuk-Tuk". Very comfortable, quiet atmosphere and with a perfect and very friendly service. We have been there for three days and we want to go there again on our next visit. Very comfortable deluxe rooms, a good, but a little bit limited breakfast - also served by extreme friedly waiters.

Room Tip: take a deluxe room with a balkony to the pool area

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in a deluxe room and we absolutely loved it. The deluxe room that we had was worth the extra money we paid and was right by the pool, with an amzing balcony over-looking the pool and surrounds. The room itself was huge; the bed was super-comfy and the bathroom was just beautiful - I want my own bathroom at home to look like this!

From the second we arrived, we received the best possible service. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and provided us with maps and timetables of their courtesy shuttles to the Walking Markets.

On arrival we put our stuff in the room and bee-lined to the pool. The pool is like an oasis. Cool, serene and beautiful. The big stone carvings of the pool steps are gorgeous. We ordered some food by the pool and fresh coconuts and we so surprised by the quality of the food. Do yourselves a favour and order the Khao Soi (The famous Chiang Mai chicken noodle curry). It is simply one of the best things I have ever tasted. I even wrote to the hotel after our stay and requested the recipe and they sent it to me! Stellar service!!

The location of the hotel is fabulous (in the old town) and is only a short tuk-tuk ride away from all the action. The only down-fall of the hotel I feel, is the breakfast. I felt for the standard of the other food, it could be much better, as the options are really limited.

Do yourselves a favour and stay here. My partner and I are already planning our trip back there and will hopefully stay for a whole week. I would not hesitate to stay here again, it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. P.S. They re-stock the mini bar all the time, and it is so cheap! So kick-back on your balcony and enjoy the drinks!

Room Tip: Pay for a deluxe room by the pool. You will love it! Oh, and order yourself a Khao Soi from the rest...

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Chaing Mai on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. It is small but very quaint, quiet, and lovely. The pool is in the center of the hotel and you sometimes feel like youre the only person staying at the hotel (in a good way!).

The location of the hotel is great (just a short walk to the old city) Stay on a saturday and sunday so you can visit the weekend markets (which are highly recommended). Tuk Tuks are cheap to get around the city by and there is always one or two waiting outside the hotel.

The food and the service was excellent here. While some people complain about the lack of buffet and the fact that it is a la carte is confusing. There is still a small buffet with great fruit, yogurt, and pastries and you can order whatever you want off the menu. The food is top notch and the iced coffee is so great.

Loved our stay here and would definitely reccomend it!

This is a great little hotel in the old city. It's in a good location, close to a lot of temples. They provided free transport to the night market, though you had to take a taxi to get back. It wasn't a big deal as the taxis were quite cheap. The staff were very helpful in telling us where to go, typical taxi costs, recommended tours to take.

The rooms were big and spacious, we had a room that faced the pool which was very nice. They provide complimentary water in the rooms and in the evenings they offer more. The pool area was very clean and maintained well. We ate at their restaurant a few times and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also great, lots of a la carte options that can be ordered.

This hotel was so good that it has spurred me to submit my first review on trip advisor!
The rim is located in a central position in the city. The staff provide fantastic service, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast service is top notch. You can order ala carte so everything is cooked fresh, both western and Thai dishes are available for breakfast. They offer a free shuttle bus everyday at 7pm to take you to the local night markets (daily markets and also the famous Saturday and Sunday markets). Taxi to the rim is 120 baht from the airport. We got a free upgrade to the "deluxe" room and the room was fantastic! Lots of free water (four bottles), nice shower and bath set up(including bath salts), comfortable bed and many pillows. The decor was very relaxing - lots of stone and wood, very traditional. Thoroughly recommend this place - a great place, great location, great staff and great price!

This is a beautiful little hotel with beautiful traditional detailing. The place was fully booked during our 3 day stay & we barely saw another guest. It is cosy & very quiet so if you're looking for action look at the big places near the night markets. The tuk tuks are so cheap that you can get to the night markets for 100b in a few minutes so don't wear out your shoes walking. Reception staff were very helpful. We had the best sleeping experince at this hotel but be careful to keep your doors closed or you may have mozzie trouble

Nice, quaint place. Good breakfast, excellent staff. Our room was a ground floor looking out to the pool. Large room. We needed two extra cots which was no problem. They will happily arrange anything for you. There'd is a laundry place rig outside the hotel where they will do your laundry. Tuk tuks are easily to get. Nice, relaxing place!
