This is a great little hotel in the old city. It's in a good location, close to a lot of temples. They provided free transport to the night market, though you had to take a taxi to get back. It wasn't a big deal as the taxis were quite cheap. The staff were very helpful in telling us where to go, typical taxi costs, recommended tours to take.

The rooms were big and spacious, we had a room that faced the pool which was very nice. They provide complimentary water in the rooms and in the evenings they offer more. The pool area was very clean and maintained well. We ate at their restaurant a few times and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also great, lots of a la carte options that can be ordered.

This hotel was so good that it has spurred me to submit my first review on trip advisor!
The rim is located in a central position in the city. The staff provide fantastic service, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast service is top notch. You can order ala carte so everything is cooked fresh, both western and Thai dishes are available for breakfast. They offer a free shuttle bus everyday at 7pm to take you to the local night markets (daily markets and also the famous Saturday and Sunday markets). Taxi to the rim is 120 baht from the airport. We got a free upgrade to the "deluxe" room and the room was fantastic! Lots of free water (four bottles), nice shower and bath set up(including bath salts), comfortable bed and many pillows. The decor was very relaxing - lots of stone and wood, very traditional. Thoroughly recommend this place - a great place, great location, great staff and great price!

This is a beautiful little hotel with beautiful traditional detailing. The place was fully booked during our 3 day stay & we barely saw another guest. It is cosy & very quiet so if you're looking for action look at the big places near the night markets. The tuk tuks are so cheap that you can get to the night markets for 100b in a few minutes so don't wear out your shoes walking. Reception staff were very helpful. We had the best sleeping experince at this hotel but be careful to keep your doors closed or you may have mozzie trouble

Nice, quaint place. Good breakfast, excellent staff. Our room was a ground floor looking out to the pool. Large room. We needed two extra cots which was no problem. They will happily arrange anything for you. There'd is a laundry place rig outside the hotel where they will do your laundry. Tuk tuks are easily to get. Nice, relaxing place!

We were booked into a deluxe room by our travel agent who recommended this hotel.

Our entire stay was one of the best I have experienced in Thailand. The staff were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure all of our needs were met and we were happy.

The room was large, comfortable and in a beautiful Lana style.

Will definitely stay at The Rim when I return to Chiang Mai.

Room Tip: Chaba building is very good!

This isn't a resort. It's an hotel with a pool. There is a computer in the lobby that you can use for the internet. The rooms are very nice and the grounds are lovely. There isn't a whole lot to do around there for the tourist. There is a nice laundry in the alley next to the hotel. They do laundry by the kilo. It's cheap.

The breakfast is good. You order your breakfast--omlette, pancakes, French toast, etc., then they have a small buffet with juice, fruits, pastry, etc. One day they had fresh cinnamon rolls which were outstanding.

The rooms are spacious, quiet, and clean. The staff at The Rim is very helpful. They never failed to point out the right place to go or help us arrange for transportation. Be sure to eat at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and be sure to order Thai for both (why would you come to Thailand and not eat Thai food?). The Thai food is excellent and if you go early and during the week, you pretty much have the restaurant to yourself. The rooms and grounds here are very spacious, quiet, and relaxing. The location of the resort is very convenient to get around in the city. One important tip though for getting around: take some of their business cards to show to your driver so they know where to take you.
