i saw many good comments before going there ; i spend 3 nights there...2 nights too much
i really don't understand all these positve comments, the breakfast is so poor, no buffet, just à la carte, no cheese only positive is fresh orange juice. the rooms are big but very old decorated, very small pool... during my trip in Chiang mai i stayed in 3 hotels, the Veranda , Kantary & the Rim..... the rim was the most expensive & nothing to compare with the 2 others; Specially the Veranda was amazing...
Staff was well very kind on the reception....
anyway i really not recommanded that old hotel.....too expensive & i don't understand why he is in the 25 best hotels of Thailand...

Although not as busy as Bangkok, Chiang Mai still tires you with traffic and street vendors. The Rim Resort is a beautiful place to relax in at the end of the day. Large rooms, ours overlooking the lovely pool. Staff great. Breakfast good, freshly made to order.

Arrived 23 Jan for 2 nights as part of our travels through Thailand.

The hotel is excellent and full of North Thailand charm. The rooms are off good size, very clean bathrooms with bath and separate shower. A nice gesture of a honeymoon cake was bought to our room.

Small pool area but very clean and quiet. Breakfast was good quality, fruit / toast / juices etc are buffet style where as you order warm breakfast off the menu and it is served to you. We had lunch which was also nice and reasonably priced.

Very helpful and polite staff.

The location is just within the old City walls and directly opposite the canal, it's about a 20 min walk into the main area and there is a complimentary shuttle to the night bazzar at 7pm

Chaing Mai is wonderful and should we return we would chose The Rim

A fantastic haven from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. The service was excellent, rooms a delight and the pool a lovely oasis. The location was very handy, easy walking distance to the night market and particularly the Sunday Walking Market. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing a great experience of Chiang Mai.

Stayed in the Rim Resort on our Honeymoon while we were travelling around Thailand.

Positives:
Great service from the staff
Good food
Reception desk very helpful when you arrive giving advice on where to go and what to see in Chiang Mai
Very large rooms
Rooms and resort very clean
Very impressed with how the reception dealt with a small issue that we had

Negatives:
Only negative is the busy road outside of the hotel which you can hear at the front of the hotel however you can't hear at the back of the hotel. The reception switched our room for us immediately and the problem was solved and we had a peaceful nights sleep.

Enjoyed our experience staying at the Rim Resort
