Don’t bother going, unless you like to see depressed animals. A lot of the enclosures were closed and the rest of them were too small, too dirty or too lonely. Several of the animals paced back and forth. The penguin “habit” was by far the worst, a tiny indoor box, the only things known to the penguins were painted on the walls.

Very cheap to enter, but you can see why.

I liked the location. It is spacious and the animals are looked after better than the reports I got. But there could be more improvements and has enough room to add more animals to match the space.

That is one of the worst zoos that i have ever been. It looks like it is deserted. You can not se a happy animal. You have to pay extra for a sleeping panda. Also pay extra for aquarium and it is nothing special. So it is better to go somwhere else.

We are an Australian/UK/US family of 5. We thoroughly enjoyed this zoo and rate it comparably to the Bronx Zoo and the Sydney Zoo. The only downfall was the absolutely shocking penguin exhibit which should be immediately shut down and those poor animals released. Their was no ice, there was shoddy air con that was poorly operating- the ventilation in the exhibit was practically non-existent and we followed the stench up the hill. This was horribly inhumane and heart wrenching. The water was soooooo green and disgusting :(

My 4 year old daughter requested that I write this review to 'help the penguins mummy'.

The water quality in the flamingoes is also quite poor with them over populated in a small area- both drinking and defacating in the same area.

There were many excellent exhibits- but the memory of the penguins will make it hard to overcome the negative thoughts associated with this zoo.

***This zoo is very hilly and excellent for getting some extra energy out for children that like to run around.

Something really cool was seeing a pair of mating ostrich's that even had a nest of eggs!

The animals in the zoo have sufficient space. A number of the exhibits were missing the animals advertized. The Panda exhibit was worth the trip, and it was quite good. The territory is quite hilly. Some stair paths do not have level steps, making them quite treacherous for an older person who has some difficulties walking anyway. The exhibits are scattered across a large territory, and the pathway layout doesn't show much organization or thought. The aquarium and panda exhibits require additional payment, as does the zoo bus.

A lot of the exhibit spaces are run down and really need some upgrading. Some of the spaces are well maintained, especially near the entrance, and the animals look like they have been provided good care.

We were pretty tired after a half day of walking the zoo territory, although we did not see all of the exhibits that were supposed to be available.

We had such a lovely day here. The animals seem very well kept and fed, even got to feed a hippo and elephant. The zoo is located on a very steep hill, so those with walking difficulties may want to pay to hire a gold buggy. The monorail doesn’t appear to work any more. We paid extra to see the pandas but there was only one to see. We didn’t pay the extra for the aquarium. Overall a really lovely day.

I saw so many conflicting reviews here, and I was very worried coming here, but it is my dream to see a panda so I had to go. The zoo is literally built into a mountain/jungle, so it’s a lot of walking but that really didn’t bother me. The panda enclosure is clearly well looked after which I expected. Some of the enclosures definitely need some refurbishment (the penguin enclosure definitely), and there were some animals that just looked sad (the tiger, Jaguar, orang-utan), and it does break my heart to see these animals all alone.

Most of the animals look healthy enough, some of the animal enclosure’s are huge, while most are only an average size, there are only a small few enclosures that need to be sorted that I hope they do in the future. The aquarium is also decent.

We don't have a car so we got tickets for the little shuttle bus/tram 30/20baht adult/kid. We hopped on and off and it worked out fine. We weren't super impressed with the zoo overall unfortunately. The enclosures are just kind of small, animals pacing or lethargic...it is crazy hot though, so we don't blame them there. Not very many of each animal. The monkeys were fun and noisy, lol. The pandas are an extra charge and only was available to see today. He was behind glass, but eating and adorable. The zoo charges by height not age, just fyi. 135cm. We will probably go back for the aquarium, which we have heard great things about. Our friends enjoyed the seal show also, but we missed it this time.

Awesome experience, never been to a zoo with such close interactions with the animals in America. Highly recommend it. Take the tour bus to cut down on talking. It's much bigger than you would think.
