Description: Our beautiful location is on the North side of the moat that surrounds the quaint "old city" of Chiang Mai. It is a perfect place to sit, enjoy the breeze, sunlight and people watching on the main road. The interior is attractive, colorful and bright with our student's art work and long share tables to encourage customers to sit together and make new friends or private tables and a small sofa in the kids corner where there are plenty of books, toys and art supplies to keep the kids happy while parents enjoy their healthy vegetarian or vegan western or local style breakfast, lunch, smoothies or coffee and dessert. We serve many Burmese and ethnic foods that you can't get anywhere else so it is fun to try something new! We also have a fun and funky little Pre-Loved Charity Shop in the cafe where you can not only donate your old clothing, household items, books and more but purchase goods and support our charity at the same time. We have loads of English language novels, travel guides, hats, shoes, scarves, jewelry, men's and women's clothing and more. We also sell organic spirulina, triphala and natural skin care products from local vendors. Please come and check us out today! You can park cars, motorbikes and bicycles along the side of the building.

“what a splendid place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

They have a super delicious shake called muay thai, which has a fine chilli taste in limey background. Also their salad selection (3 vegan salads sample) is so good! I seriously recommend especially the tea leaf salad! I didn't have tummy room for raw vegan key lime pime, but I am planning to go back... :) Would go even if the money didn't go to such a good cause.

“All Round Great Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2014

I've been to Free Bird many times now, the food is SO tasty and healthy (with the tea leaf salad a particular favourite) the staff are kind and genuine and the ambiance is chilled and nourishing. An all round great place to eat, chill, work (they have wifi) and hang out.
They also sell really cool pre-loved clothes, from which I've bough some lovely items.
I'd highly recommend at least one visit to Free Bird whilst they're in Chiang Mai. All their profits go to Thai Freedom House, a not-for-profit, language and arts community learning center (above the cafe) dedicated to assisting families and individuals who are refugees from Burma and members of minority groups of Thailand. http://thaifreedomhouse.org/

“great vegan food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014 via mobile

Being raw vegans we found it hard to find our type of foods, until we found FBC? The food is delicious, we have already dine there twice, will go back for more before we leave. YUM!
