“Great little place...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip to CM. We also stayed at 5 other places in the 8 nights we were in the area and this had to be one of the better ones.
We dropped 1 of our bags with them whilst we did a motorbike tour and then they looked after all our bags on the last day as we had a late flight home.
Great staff who always have a smile and can never do enough for you.
Location is pretty good, quiet Soi but close to all major attractions.
Rooms were big, clean and comfortable.
Overall value for money place to stay :)

Room Tip: As someone else commented already, rooms 308 & 309 are more private and have a good view over th...

Arriving late at night after 3 flights spanning 24hrs...this hotel was like an oasis of calm in the desert, Polite hospitable and helpful staff quickly checked us in and also gave us a map of the area not before marking out areas of interest close by and wishing us a good night, the rooms were quite spacious and had more than what you would expect at the rates we payed, and the cleanliness of the place is worth mentioning, the property has no lift and not much staff so you might want to request a room at a lower level if you have too much luggage and hate stairs, there is no restaurant and the breakfast is pretty basic, but the location is unbeatable 2 minutes from the Sunday walking market and surrounded by a couple a temples one right in front of the hotel, the streets around the hotel have many restaurants to satisfy a myriad of tastes, chiang mai by nature is a peaceful and laid-back city the prices are a reasonable compared to other tourist oriented cities in Thailand and the people are a lot more hospitable. and this little hotel reflects this city like a mirror....

Room Tip: request a room facing the road in front of the hotel and on the lower floors to avoid the stairs.

I just came back from Chiang Mai and here are some of my expierence I would like to share with all the tripadivsor members.
[1] Recomended Hotel : Baan Nam Sai Hotel
a)Nice hotel owner (Mdm Tina) and her staffs.
b)clean big rooms with cable TV programmes, Ice box, hot/cold shower and free Wifi.
c)Good location, inside Chiang Mail City, not along the main road which provided quiet environment.
d)walking distance to motor bike rental and internet shop.
[2] Recomended shopping area : Warorot Market
I personally do my shopping at WM instate of Night Market which I found price is much cheaper at WM.
[3] There is a steam boat resturant you must try when you are in CM. It is inside the Chiang Mai City just located along the main road. Owned by Thai chinese, the name of this resturant was written in Thai and Mandarin wording ( sorry unable to give the resturant name in English, and they did not provided resturant card as well ).
But if you travelling along the 4 main road in the Chiang Mai City, you will notified this resturant crowded with local people every night. Good Cheap food.

This is a very comfortable guesthouse, located in a new building and well attended to. The owners are pleasant and accommodative, room cleaning was unobtrusive -- they would notice when I left for breakfast and I would come back to a tidied up room. Corner rooms on the third (top) floor (room 308 and 309) have extra privacy and light. The bed is firm, like in so many places in Asia... yet the pillows and blanket is very comfortable, allowing for a good quality of sleep.

The location is very central, as the reviewer below me points out. You are right next to everything, yet you are in a quiet lane ('soi') that makes for a serene stay.

This place is a steal at the price it charges, I highly recommend!

We stayed here 5nights in mid-November 2011. The hotel was very kind to let us add an additional night with very short notice, and we didn't even have to change rooms. Located in old city, it is close to great restaurants, cooking schools, walking street night market. Nice clean room, good shower. A little noise early in the morning from roosters and the temple, but it's on a very quiet street. Good a/c, fridge and TV with English channels. We had problem with sink and they fixed it right away. The staff are wonderfully kind and helpful. Will definitely stay here again when I have the chance.

This guest house is just fantastic for the traveler. You feel like you are hidden away, but actually it is a great location for the new city. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and mossy tight! The staff (mainly female) were so friendly and helpful, great laundry service too. Courtyard was lovely and breakfast was simple but nice. Really great value for all travelers that aren't looking for 5* room service type stay. Highly recommended.

I loved this place, I wish I stayed here longer. I moved here from another place because I had some issues at the other one. The rooms here are clean ( you might find a few ants, but that's normal for SEA and it was seriously like 4 that I saw) and the plumbing works well. Water pressure can be weak, but not too bad and I've had much worse in Thailand.

You get a fridge, hot water, ac and cable tv with lot's of English channels.

What is so great about this place are the ladies who run it. They are so sweet and accommodating. They let me check out late at 4pm and promptly changed my room when my ac seemed to have some problems.

The location is great and you are off the main road so it is very quiet. The only things you hear are the chanting noises from the Wat near by which is lovely and the odd tuk tuk that comes down the street.

Great price and comfort in an excellent area with lovely proprietors. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: No elevator so if you are older or injured, check to see that there is a room available on the lower...
