This market definitely isn't for everyone, but if this sort of thing is your cup of tea (as it is mine), then don't miss it. This is certainly more of a "locals" market and that's a big part of the fun. Between the inside area and the stalls outside on the sidewalk, you can find everything from sox and washcloths to teas, dried fruits, cooked foods, men's and women's clothing, jewelry, kitchen goods and everything in between. What you won't find is designer goods or most of the tourist junk that's on offer at the Night Bazar. The market is hot, crowded, frenetic and fun.
One caution, however, is that you'll need to bargain on everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. You're going to pay more than a local anyway, but getting the cost down from the original asking price is all part of the fun. If you can at least count in Thai and have a few handy Thai phrases (I.E. "How much is this?" and "Can you lower the price a bit?"), you'll get a much better reception and better deals. Even if you can't do that, you'll have a fun time. Whatever you do, keep it friendly, smile a lot and enjoy yourself.

A must visit market in Chiangmai. They sell a lot of stuff in this market (local food, clothing, cutlery, vegetables, nest, etc) and a great way to experience the way of life of a local. Northern sausages is a good takeaway gift for family and friends as some stalls had them vacuum packed. Dried mangoes, Thai tea leaves are a good buy in this market. You can even sip Thai tea or coffee in one of the beverage stalls whenever you needed a rest from all the bargaining and walking. The shop owners we have met are very generous in letting us to sample the products before we make any purchase so that we will only get those stuff that we like to eat.

This is very large marke with both food and other sections. The whole place is nicely organized and clean and it has s an opportunity to see - or taste- most of the local products. Only negative is that most of the food, except for some greens ormat is under plastic. Nvethelss a nice stroll.

The Warorot market had dried food and also their famous northern thai sausage. My family bought the dried food home as souveniers, for reasonable prices . Some stalls even let you sample the food. The clothes were not very fanstastic but the lanes outside the market had a lot of interesting shops to buy souveniers.

Warorot Market or Kad Luang is a must visit for food lovers as it offers a wide Range of ready to eat meals, local snack and desserts, all kinds of fresh produce, meats and seafood. A large section of the market features inexpensive goods, clothing, accessories and personal care products.
Targeting mostly Thais, Warorot Market is a great place to get a feel of the local way of life.

It is an authentic local market and is HUGE with merchandise range from groceries to cooked food to textile products. Many items are price tagged hence no hagging required. Flower market is nearby. Though shopping experience may not be favourable it is still worth a visit to get a feel of CM's local market.

An excellent variety of merchandise at varying prices. Can be very busy and a bit daunting. The uneven surfaces make walking slow and a bit tricky.

You can find just about anything in this massive market! If the seller doesn't have it, they might direct you to another one who does. Most helpful and friendly people.

Exploring the Famous Warorot Market (ตลาดวโรรส) in Chiang Mai ..

The mkt is a long-stdg historical landmark .. known for its variety of speciality chiangmai food & snacks .. amgst the more popular must-eats r the sai ua (northern Thai sausage ไส้อั่ว), cab moo & nam prik noom (pork rinds and green chili dip แคปหมู น้ำพริกหนุ่ม), & moo yor (steamed sausage loaf หมูยอ) ..

There's a queue for these specialty sausages .. but we decided to give it a miss, as there were too many pple waiting in queue .. :(( ..

We r captivated by the pple, the faces, the smiles, everythg anythg tt shows us the local way of life ..
