“Yep its a bridge”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Other than getting some good pics of the river in both directions, East at sunrise and west at sunset. There is no other significance I can ascertain

this is the main entry to the old town from where we stayed ,I have no idea how many times we would have crossed it over our three weeks in Chiang Mai !! Good view of the river in both directions

“A bridge”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

a bridge, just a bridge with not great architectural merit or anything else.
A means of getting from one side of the river to the other. If photos of the river are wanted then is is a good place to stand.

“Just a Bridge!”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Not an achitechtural marvel by any stretch of the imagination - there are 2 times in the year where this bridge becomes the focal point for Chiang Mai. April 13th is Songkran (Thai New Year/Water Festival) and this (along with the Moat) become Ground Zero of the water fight madness - mainly by locals but some foriegners get in on the act.

Loy Kratong (Oct or Nov) - the floating lantern festival is becomes jam packed with pyrotechnic insanity. Definitly not for younger kids or those with heart conditions.

“Nice”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

We walked across the Iron Bridge and along the river and across the Nawarat Bridge to the other side. Locals were fishing by the banks of the river and along the bridge, there were lovely flowers. The Governer's mansion was located nearby too.
