very very delicious thai food at this unassuming little restaurant. while the location is a bit tricky to find, it is definitely worth the effort.

just as they claim, there is "no view" but with the plastic chairs and tables it feels authentic and local. the food comes quickly, is incredibly delicious and it has a welcoming community feel. they were also able to make many of their dishes vegetarian. i went for the khao soi, as that is one of my all time favorite thai dishes but my friends all enjoyed their choices as well. rave reviews for the drunken noodles (pad kee mao), a great chicken coconut soup (tom kah gai) and a yummy mushroom salad (yum hed).

this was a great, inexpensive find! looking forward to many meals at lemongrass in my future visits to chiang mai.

I think their slogan is 'no view but tasty'. It certainly is tasty - a variety of thai dishes to choose from and all cooked to perfection.

Lovely family run restaurant. The mum takes the orders- lovely woman and speaks very good English - there is never any mix up with the orders here.

The price is incredibly reasonable too for the quality of food. Eg I think I paid 100bht for a green thai curry. The service is slick. Even when it is peak time and busy, the food runs on time.

We ate here twice during our week stay.

To find it walk past the meridien (in the night market direction). At the junction of McDonald's, Starbucks cross straight over the road (you will see signs for the red lion pub/restaurant) ahead of you. Walk down past the red lion. The lemongrass is the last restaurant on this little road.

We went along to Lemongrass Thai Restaurant after reading a few reviews on T/A.
At first we couldn't find it, each review just saying it's near the night markets, which is correct, but without a street address it's not that easy.
Look for the McDonalds and Starbucks joints on a corner near the Le Meridian hotel, it's down that street about 150 meters.
As others have reviewed, the food is excellent, really good quality authentic Northern Thai cuisine.
All served with speed and a friendly smile by the staff.
The Thai style beef salad and fish cakes for appetizers hit the spot but the star for us was the steamed Snapper in a spicy lemon broth, really fragrant and with a deep flavored broth.
The only downside for us was the (as usual) northern European tourists who seem to have missed the fact that smoking indoors while others are eating is sooo last Tuesday, give it up guys, move with the times and butt out please.
Why this place is not higher up the rankings on T/A is a mystery, as is how all those dull little coffee shops rank in the top spots.

this is a simple elegant Restaurant located on Loi-Kroh Road, very close to the night bazaar serving authentic Thai food enhanced by the Chef's own style. Open for late Lunch and Dinner, it is inexpensive and the menu is varied. The Chef will also modify any dish to suit any palate. Very friendly and prompt service. Many elegant dishes to try to really understand the uniqueness of Thai Cuisine. Try the Chef's menu of deserts, particularly ice cream made with coconut milk.

We went to lemon grass for dinner while visiting in Chiang Mai. The staff are attentive and the owner speaks excellent english and can make recomendations. Spice levels are adjustable. Even though the restaurant was near capacity the service was quick. The food was typical Thai fair and very good, it did not stand out as exceptional however. The seating is patio chairs with an open air view of the street right near the night market. We met another couple from England who had also found the restaurant based on Tripadvisor and enjoyed their meal.
