“Spotless!!!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

This was our 3rd visit in Chiang Mai. We chose Sakorn Residence because its convenient location, fews steps away from dining choices along the river and away from a crowded old town. We spent 2 nights in a standard room (1100THB+600for an extra bed) The room was brand new, ample bathroom with good water system, the bed was not too soft or too hard, the lighting was easy to be adjusted to personal preferance; what we like most is its cleaness and spotless room, there was no stain on any linen sheet, towel or any bad smell from old carpet (they use a marble floor). The breakfast served in a set menu with choices between western and asian styles which was enough to keep our stomuch full till noon. At the price we paid, this was a very reasonable stay. The only regret was that we did not try the swimming pool and the gym! Maybe next time...

over the last 10 years my wife and I have travelled extensively throughout Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Sakorn residence would have to rate as possibly as the best value hotel we have stayed in, everything was perfect!
The hotel is in a quiet area, spotlessly clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good pool, small but tasty restaurant, easy walking distance to markets, food and clothing bazaars and a short 15 minute walk to the quality River Market restaurant and Dukes restaurant (both are down near the Iron Bridge and a must for foodies).
Loved Chiang Mai and everything about the Sakorn Residence...highly recommended!

Room Tip: One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The best tip I can give a Tripadvisor reader is that if yo...

Just enjoyed 4 nights at sakorn and had a wonderful time. Beautiful hotel, really clean and modern with lovely rooms. We had a great view of the pool- which by the way was a great place to spend a few hours after a days sightseeing.
Nice breakfast, extremely good service and great value for money. A little way out of the city, but we really appreciated this! Close to the night bazaar and easy to get a tuk tuk into the centre.

Lying slightly outside the old city of Chiang Mai, Sakorn Residence is still easily accessible on foot or by tuk-tuk, and is five minutes walk from the riverside restaurants. With big, comfortable beds and spacious, clean rooms, it offers high-quality amenities. Breakfast is very good, service is efficient and friendly. Overall, a good option for a stay in Chiang Mai.

Sakorn residence is a home away from home. Clean as a pin, giant bed, modern large rooms and lovely bathrooms. I just loved it. Theres a gym if you feel so inclined snd if you just want to cool down The pool is a dream. You could live here easily. Breakfast is simple but included at no extra cost.

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean with modern furniture. We got a free up grade to a bigger room. You can reach the river with several reastaurants and bars in a short walking distance (5 minutes). You can also walk to the city centre which is about 20 minutes or just take a tuk-tuk for approx. 50 Baht (depends on your negotiation with the tuk-tuk driver). The breakfast is okay.

We were given an upgrade without asking so what was not to like? But agree anyway with tenor of previous reviews. Good location for some decent, rather upmarket restaurants along the Ping River but 20 minutes stroll or a 60 baht tuk tuk ride from the night market for shopping and cheaper eating. Large room, very clean with all the modern expectations met (cable tv, air-con) but a pleasant change for us as we had come by boat up the Mekong and the guest houses along the way are something not to remember.
The room oddly has a fridge, cups and a huge jug but no tea or coffee provided so saw people taking them from breakfast (which is rather limited in the five choices but staff in the cafe as elsewhere are very friendly and helpful). The jug is really a small urn and someone had used ours for cooking, we could not get rid of the smell but the staff were as prompt in changing it as they were in meeting any other request.
