Enjoyed Chaing Mai and five nights at Sakorn Residence in July 2012. Made to order breakfast included and transportation (tuk tuk or taxi) can easily be arranged by reception staff. Relaxing, large room and bath.

The rooms here are very clean, roomy, with efficient air-con, an absolute must in the summer. The bathroom is clean, modern, with excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff is very kind and friendly; most speak at least some English, with the desk clerks speaking English very well. The entire hotel is very quiet, with signs in English and in Thai asking you close doors quietly and not shout.

The room price includes breakfast which is tasty and filling, and includes fresh fruit every morning. This was my first experience eating rambutan, a fruit which I highly recommend.

Room tip: All rooms are quiet, but you get a slightly better view overlooking the pool.

We stayed here over songkaran festival in April and extended our stay as we liked it so much. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are spacious, modern and simple. The staff were really friendly and helped arrange a days trekking which was really reasonable. The breakfast is tasty but limited however the Thai food which they serve at lunch in the restaurant is delicious and really good value- about £1. 20 for a main dish.
There are some nice restaurants/ lively bars a few minutes walk on the river front which are popular with the locals. Or you can walk into the old town in about 20mins where there is the night market, lots of temples, restaurants and bars.
The pool is nice to cool down in after a days sight seeing!

I would recommend this hotel highly, BUT it is far away from the city center. I rented a motorbike though so it was not a big deal. The hotel was very helpful in arranging a good motorbike for a very fair price. The hotel is quiet (it is loud if you stay in the city center which I have done before), and the staff are friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is great and the fitness center is very good too (treadmills, elliptical, mat, bike). Breakfast has a variety of choices, but it is not a buffet. Breakfast was fruit, sweets, coffee/tea (unlimited), and a choice of a noodle soup, eggs/toast/meat, cereal. The hotel is also very safe and in a quiet neighborhood (there is a local, small food shop across the hotel which has excellent Thai food). Also, there is a small cafe next door which is co-owned by the hotel, I believe, and has great cafe drinks.

After reading so many positive reviews we decided to book three nights at the Sakorn residence and are so GLAD we did. This is amazing gem of a hotel that is a quiet refuge from the busier parts of downtown Chiang Mai. If you are looking for a party place this is not it but if you looking for an extremely clean, quiet and well run hotel this is your place. From easy check-in to the great breakfast each morning we felt truly lucky to be staying there. Rooms are spotless with a nice little balcony to rest on once the sun goes down. Staff we super nice and accommodating to any request. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a clean, quiet place to stay.
