Owner description: The Ratchaphruek Flower Gardens are a must-see when visiting the Chiang Mai area. The expansive gardens are incredibly picturesque. Bike rentals are available and, for less active travelers, an electric bus is available to take you around.

These gardens are spectacular. The land is very large, so rent a bicycle to ride around. You can visit different areas that specialize in flora and fauna from different areas of the world. My favorite part is the cactus garden, where you will see unique cacti - one looks like a cupcake! The gardens aren't too far from Chiang Mai center and, if you are interested in plants of all kinds from around the world, worth your time.

I have visited twice and I love it!

Flowers were very very beautiful and the creativity displayed were worth applauding.

The event was also well organized. Plenty of event staff were available to provide assistant. Well structured and clean. Almost like a high class themepark organization.

Plenty of f&b, tram rides were easy. Remember to retain tram tickets for hop in hop off rides.

Remember to wear sunblock, cap and shades. Always very hot no matter how cool the city was.

Built for the king's celebration several years ago, the crowds of locals have stopped coming and just a few tourist buses seem to know about this place that is in fact still open. It's beautifully maintained with well-landscaped gardens, both native to Thailand and international. The tram is worth the fare on a hot day but it doesn't stop at every tram stop, so choose your hop-off point wisely and stay hydrated. It's worth a trip if you've got a motorbike rental and a decent camera for the macro flower shots.
