Mr. Juicy used to be a small kiosk on the street selling smoothies and fruit shakes but this week I was surprised to find that it had grown into a beautiful restaurant/coffee shop/drink emporium at the same location. It’s bright, colorful, tastefully designed, air conditioned, and they still have the same wooden games and puzzles that entertained their customers in the past.
This restaurant is family-owned and retains the personal, friendly service that made their previous stand such a delight. However now, in addition to their signature drinks, they also offer some terrific food dishes. I’ve had the tuna salad (see attached picture), a hot sandwich, and more. Breakfast items, salads and sandwiches fill the colorful menu.
The location is perfect: Right on the main road in the old city where the Sunday market takes place; Wat Chedi Luang is just around the corner. It’s approximately midway between Thapae Gate and Wat Phra Singh. Easy to find, easy to love.
I wish my trip to Chiang Mai were not ending soon because I could certainly make Mr. Juicy a daily habit for breakfast and/or lunch.
