The Britannia was definitely one of the best Guesthouse we stayed at in Southeast Asia. The rooms are complete with AC, Cable TV, Ensuite, Daily Cleaning for only 400 (single)/600 (double) Baht! (I think it's supposed to be 500/700 in the high season). WIFI is available in the common area on the ground floor and in the rooms on the first and second floor. Also, the couple that runs the place are very knowledgable and friendly. After spending hours wandering around looking for a place to stay with our giant backpacks, Britannia was like finding an oasis in the desert.

Tip: They will accept call-ahead bookings! I recommend. They even accommodated us last minute when we came back early from Chiang Rai.

Room Tip: Wifi is available in the rooms on the first floor (very good reception) and on the second floor (okay reception)

I can't rate this guesthouse high enough. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms which was 400 baht, larger were600+baht I think (might change by the time you read this) we got an immaculately clean room, towels, air con, cable tv, en suite and a balcony. There was a house keeper who came round everyday who was lovely and would replace all towels, make the bed and clean the room which was so lovely after being in the hot hot sun and something so rare for the price.
We made the mistake of booking at sk house for two nights, after we had dropped our bags we walked round the corner and when we found it booked straight away...after two horrible nights at sk we stayed at 'home' and that what it felt like our little home. Everyone was so welcoming and the owners were so lovely, helping us with everything from where to buy stamps to booking an elephant sanctury and cooking classes with getting the bet price for us nothing seemed commission based which sk especially seemed. It was so nice to live there, when we arrived in chaing mai we were only going to stay 4 nights max but ended up stayed for 3 weeks. There is a lovely local restaurant if you walk to te main road with Thai one on behind you it's on your right when you reach the end, try the orange and passion fruit shake! I miss chaing mai and the Britannia. we havnt stayed in such a nice place since!

Wonderful owners and terrific guesthouse for the price. Clean rooms, AC, TV, ETC. Great location.

Room Tip: Quietest rooms are In back without balcony.

We found this on hostel world and booked online. We were not so sure what to expect but only booked because they said it was Kiwi owned. I said we could give it a go and stay as we only needed accommodation for 1 night.

It is a great place to stay. At the end of Soi 9 any taxi from the airport can get you there. The owners run a super clean and modern hostel. It is immaculate. No issues anywhere and the rooms are pretty well fit out. We booked a couples room and had a tv, air con and a nice ensuite. Water pressure was very good in the shower especially after a 15 hour flight just what you want.

As we were moving here to Chiang Mai , Lachlan the owner took time to speak to us and give us some pointers about the area. Also as we had easy access to Tuk Tuk and shopping. Most of the main shopping like the big TESCO and Night Bazzar is on the other side of town but no major drama to get there. This guest house is close to the back packer bars and you could book elephant tours and anything else you need. They also have a little onsite bar to get a cold one. A little noisy outside as it close to the road but nothing to bad.

Highly recommended and would stay again.

Room Tip: If you are staying a few days get the room with a fridge as it is super hot in Thailand and you may want to stock up on some water or juice in your room.

This was the best place I have stayed in, very central location, clean tidy rooms which perfectly suit your needs. The best thing however are the owners, they made me and my friend feel so welcome and they treat you like family. So kind and caring. Very safe place to stay and I would absolutely recommend this place of others in the area. STAY HERE!!!!!!!

Room Tip: The higher you are the quieter is is for you.
