“Excellent experience with Siripanna Chiang Mai”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Lovely resort, quiet place, nice service, great people. The Royal Lanna Villa with outdoor terrace is excellent. You can get all you wants inside the resort. And we like the swimming pool so much.

Spend your time with Siripanna Villa, you will love it.

Room Tip: Stay inside the resort, you can have everything inside.

Lovely set up with gorgeous, spacious rooms and bathrooms. The neighborhood looks a little commercial / suburban but once you're in the hotel you feel as though you're truly away from it all. Happy hour at the pool with free snacks is a nice touch. The service at the hotel is wonderful and the rooms well maintained. A couple of minor gripes that prevent me from giving a rating of "5". If you arrive at breakfast within 30 minutes of finishing time most plates / trays are empty and staff make no attempt to refill even when they see guest lifting the lids looking for food. We had a late dinner at the restaurant one night and, after serving our food, the 1-2 staff on duty were preoccupied with setting up for breakfast (which is fine) and didn't come back to check on us again. A good 20-30 mins after finishing our mains I got tired to waiting for service and went to find the staff myself to ask for the dessert menu at which point I was told that the kitchen closed 5 minutes ago. Poor form. The Thai food at the restaurant is bland so I would not recommend the restaurant. I would stay here again in a flash I would simply avoid the restaurant.

The Siripanna is located in the quiet, remote outskirts of Chiang Mai. A short, cheap(100 Baht) tuk tuk ride away from the city center. The property is amazing…lush foliage, a pool that completely wraps around the central courtyard, and rice patty field in which you can learn to plant a rice crop. Check-in is done sit down style over cold tea in the open air lobby with a very tropical feel. The room is massive and luxurious in every way. Large TV, bedroom is huge, huge comfortable bed, and a bathroom that was bigger than some entire hotel rooms I've stayed in before complete with large vanity, bathtub and walk-in shower. Nice little touches too like beautiful hard wood floors, remote control A/C, high quality bathrobes, slippers, soaps, ample mini bar, door that opens onto your personal patio even on the first floor, free bottled water and turn down service with personalized message. The hotel also woos you with free 10 minute massage, complimentary fresh fruit plate in room upon arrival, shuttle at various times to old town, trustworthy ice made in house with filtered water delivered to room anytime before 11pm. The staff was incredible bending over backwards for us. Concierge was honest and forthright actually talking us out of an activity he felt didn't suit us. No matter the time of night they come out front to greet you with a welcome home smile. Even driving me to the store when I realized I needed sandals for the elephant tour. In fact my only minor grievances were no free WIFI in room(to this day I'll never understand why the pricier the hotel the less likely they have free WIFI) and the lobby where there is free WIFI has mosquitoes from being an open air concept(something that was charming a first seemed slightly impractical when your getting bit up by mosquitoes). However the staff brought us bug spray. Also noticed that if you stay on the second floor there appeared to be no elevator. I would recommend this hotel for almost any type of traveler, with the exception of someone backpacking.

Excellent services and welcoming by the staff. No complaints can be found. Staff generally can speak fair english.

All of us enjoyed the huge room in the Villa, especically the high qulaity of bed. All of us have a very good sleep at the night. This is very important for the travellers who have already exhausted after a long day's travelling.

Swimming pool is nice and clean. Breakfast and the lunch buffet (with a very cheap promotion prices) are above average with many choices of western and thai style food.

The only backward is the disconnection of wifi within the room. Even though we get the wifi password but still cant access to the network. However, it didnt spoli our mood beacuse actually we are seeking for the temporary isolation from the busy electronical world. So, it's fine for us.

In sum, i will recommend my friends to visit.

One of two hotels I was staying at in Thailand during my honeymoon, all I can say is that I wished me and my wife had stayed here longer!

Not too far from town and free shuttle busses ran regularly, this hotel is the perfect getaway after a long day of adventure in Chiang Mai. The spa is lovely (little expensive but worth it), the food is simply brilliant and priced well, the room (Grand Deluxe Lanna) was beautiful and relaxing, the pool is inviting even during monsoon season!, internet room is free, staff are helpful and happy, hotel is beautiful and calming.

Just two negatives; WiFi is not free and the gym is tiny. If they are to keep the gym this small it should probably just be cardio machines as weight building exercises with just free weights are limited and essentially useless. Such small negetives it cannot effect the five star rating.

Thank you Siripanna staff and management!

This hotel was our first stop on our honeymoon. The first thing to note was how excellent the staff were. The hotel itself was lovely, not too big but still plenty of room to get around. We did have dinner in the hotel the first night as we were very tired from travelling, in hindsight it was very expensive with compared to other chiang mai restaurants. The spa was also excellent, but seemed to be practically empty. The hotel is a little outside of the main town but very easy to access via tuk tuk.

We/ve now stayed at 10 different 4 and 5 star resorts in Thailand - The Siripanna ranks as the best overall, for many reasons. The fantastic staff could not have done a more wonderful job at making our stay so memorable! They really go the extra distance to be welcoming, helpful and I cant fault their awesome hospitality. The resort is a beautiful oasis of peace and serenity - the rooms are devine, pool and garden areas are beautiful, reception, dining and other public areas exquisite. The breakfast has plentiful choices and the best cappuccinos we've tasted in Thailand. Amazing desserts are available throughout the day in the lobby. Happy hour at the pool bar from 4-6 includes free tasty nibbles.. For those that need internet, theres free use of computers and wifi in the lobby. Free shuttles to Warorot market , Walking markets and Night Bazaar. Theres a small local shop 50 metres outside to the right and a laundry service 100 metres to the right. THe resort is non-smoking which is refreshing. Request a ground floor room if stairs are a problem as theres no lift. Although its about 1 km on the eastern (quieter) side of the river its only 80 -100 baht back from the night bazaar or old city, so not a problem at all for a wonderfully peaceful holiday. Oh and the beds are so comfortable - a difficult thing to find in Thailand as most are too hard....
