I have travelled around the world for more than 20 years and stayed in countless hotels and I can honestly say there is no place like Ping Nakara. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The whole concept is very well thought out. Hotel is lovely colonial style with a great pool, furniture, and the rooms are exquisite. Rain shower, large bath tub, huge 4 poster bed... The food in the restaurant is excellent and front desk does go that extra mile.
Here's an example: we booked a day trip to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle independantly and informed the hotel we would like an early breakfast as we were being picked up at 7am. After eating, we went back to our room. At 7.20 reception called us to ask if it was normal that we hadn't been picked up yet and they called the tour compnay to make sure that all was still ok. Sure enough, they had forgotten us and had to send a car back come get us. Thanks to this proactive attitude, we still made the trip.
There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel, although I would recommend going elsewhere for a massage as prices in the spa are much higher than in town.
