The Ping Nakara Boutique Hotel it's a beautiful and elegant hotel located 10 min walk from the Night Bazar in Chiang Mai. Good location. Friendly staff, room and cleanliness amazing. The breakfast was very good and the girls at the breakfast service were so kind and nice. We really enjoyed everything of our stay.

We stayed here on our final night of a one week driving holiday around Northern Thailand.
We were travelling with our 10 and 13 year old children and stayed in rooms 304 and 305.
The hotel is in a convenient location to the night bazaar markets but is on a very busy road which means you can get caught in traffic trying to get to and from the hotel. The rooms we stayed in were also very noisy from the traffic. There are internal doors to reduce the noise, however it was still intrusive. I would suggest asking for a room away from the traffic noise, however the options are limited.
I presume the rooms have been configured to address the noise, however it is a bit odd that the entrance to the rooms is through the bathroom.
The rest of the hotel has nice features and facilities with an interesting colonial feel.
The service was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a mix of buffet and a la carte with Western and Asian options.
If you stay here it is worth a walk down to the Nakara Jardin bakery for a coffee or early evening drink.

Room Tip: Ask to be on one of the end rooms away from the traffic noise.

The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious. The pool was really nice and also all the drinking water we needed was included. The breakfast was also good.

Cons: Maybe we were unlucky because it was raining a lot but the room felt really humid. Also we had dinner one night at the hotel restaurant and the beef with curry had a lot of fat. We could not eat it. And last, in the other hotels we had stayed for this trip staff was super helpful, we did not feel the staff was as helpful here.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for these good comments. We always need to know from our guests both praise and criticism so that we can grow. We work hard to keep the hotel very clean and in best condition so that guests can feel it truly is a 'Return to Elegance'.

As our guest’s visit was during the last month of the rainy season and there was a monsoon rain during that period, which boosts the relative humidity to a high level. However, this can be helped in the room by turning on the air conditioner that will remove moisture in the air. From guest comment, we will continue to train service staff to be helpful but not intrusive, and will make sure raw materials used in cooking are the best. We apologize for your disappointment in this area.

Kind regards,
Chairat

We used this hotel for a nite of luxe before flying to Laos the next afternoon. I have preferred to stay in the Thapae Gate area when in Chiang Mai.
This Hotel has changed my mind. We were ushered inside out of the rain into a calm luxury by friendly well spoken staff who then whisked us effortlessly off to our basic suite where we had every convenience available and a high standard of comfort.
The food and wine we ordered for dinner by the pool terrace bar were delicious, breakfast was amazing. Given how much I love spending time in Chiang Mai I can see this hotel becoming part of my itinerary.

If you are a sucker for old, colonial, boutique resort, this is the one for you. The building's architecture is what draws me here. I love the french doors and colonial stairs. They even have an old vintage Mercedes Benz to pick you up from the airport. Rooms are very spacious and super clean. Toilet is big and modern. Lightings in bedroom and toilet are a bit dim though. Get the rooms facing the pool with balconies. Those facing the road are noisy for sleeping at nite. Breakfast is order anything you want from the menu. Good food! Beautiful quiet pool that never has anyone in it. So you can have the privacy and quiet all by yourself. Get the top floor, level 3 for a nice view of the pool. Like other reviewers said, service is not on par with the beauty. Don't expect Raffles Hotel service. Staff are not rude. They are just there when you need them, that's all. Otherwise, don't expect proactive service from them. Basically, stay here for it's old charm. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: get the rooms with balconies facing the pool. get the highest floor, level 3. avoid rooms facing the traffic noise from the main rood.
