We booked this tour via email a few days before we arrived in Thailand. We were only in Chaing Mai for 3 nights so wanted to make the most of it by visiting lots of different attractions it has to offer. We went with the tour A all day package which we asked if we could slightly tweak to avoid tiger kingdom and to do bamboo rafting instead of white water rafting! This was confirmed via email and payment was to be given on the day. It was a private tour with only me and my sister, our tour guide Steve and a driver. We were picked up promptly and driven around in a comfy a/c van to ourselves with plenty of drinking water. We visited The monks to offer them food which was included in the price of the trip so no need to take food with you. Then we climbed the 300+ steep stairs to the temple but there is a lift to take if you would prefer, the view at the top was all over Chaing Mai great for photos. Next we headed to the hill tribes but as it was busy with a coach of Chinese tourists ahead of us our guide took us to the elephant poo paper factory as an extra while we waited till the hill tribe village was quieter. Wouldn't really recommend poo paper factory all a little bit strange to be honest but still ok !! The hill tribes was an experience, knowing some of the children from the tribes were refugees and lived with the bare minimum I took along lots of little toys I had bought from the UK which I handed out to all the children who's faces lit up and parents who were very grateful of this, it really touched me and you could hear the whistles from the toys at the bottom of the village!! Bamboo rafting was next, life jackets were provided and 2 men would steer you down a stream on a bamboo raft and even let you have a go at steering which was difficult! As you relax on the raft you can see lots of elephants being ridden at the side of the stream which wasn't nice to watch them carrying a heavy load and being forced along it made me very cross and helpless. We then had a traditional Thai lunch which was ok by the stream nothing to rave about. Then with some time to kill we visited a lovely waterfall where you can climb up and down the steep rocks and swim in the beautiful clear water, there are ropes in places to help you climb but careful as rocks can be very slippy and was challenging and a steep climb. Finally we visited the elephant sanctuary which is what we were looking froward to the most! three 2 year old elephants had been rescued from terrible previous situations and bought to this lovely sanctuary where they would roam freely and had a big lake to play and bathe in. The Mahouts really cared for the elephants and knew their emotions and communicated with them which was lovely to see. We washed, played and fed the elephants getting that close was amazing hard to put into words!! My final point is about our first class tour guide Steve who was soooo knowledgable about each attraction and Chaing Mai/ Thailand in general!! He spoke fluent English and was funny and friendly. We learnt so much about Thailand from him and he really deserves a special mention for the best day and definitely the best tour we have ever done in any country we have visited so a big thanks to you who made our trip 10/10!! Please don't let the price of this trip put you off booking it is 100% worth it for the amount of things you do/ see!

This was our second trip and we have just booked out third! Amazing local experiences, guides that go totally above and beyond. Nothing is too hard or any trouble. I just cannot recommend this company highly enough.

I usually avoid tour guides because you're on the guide's schedule, and they usually only take to you to the most touristy spots. This is not the case with Untouched Thailand. It felt more like an old friend taking you around Thailand and showing you the true cultural experience. Doi Suthep is a very popular spot, but we were able to avoid the crowds by waking up early. Tong showed us how to properly offer the monks their morning alms, and then drove us up the mountain to the famous temple on Doi Suthep to receive a blessing from the monk. Then we drove a little ways down to the Hidden Temple, where there were absolutely no other tourists besides us. It was amazing! I loved the Hidden Temple more than any of the temples I've visited in Chiang Mai.

Tong was also a great guide himself! He was so funny and relaxed. He let us take our time and adjusted the tour to our needs. He even bought us breakfast on his own dime. Stand up guy! Tong represents the character of many of the locals in Chiang Mai - hospitable, friendly, and a great sense of humor. Highly recommended!
