Traveling as a honeymoon couple we are after quiet relaxing places, this place was perfect. A great location near to Chaing Mai gate, it's set off the main moat road that surrounds the old city so your not bothered by noise at all. Staff are always helpful, friendly and will do anything, including booking your tour which was extremely good. Breakfast is ordered exactly to your secification each day on a slip you complete which was also a nice touch- im fed up of buffet breakfasts in the larger hotels! The room, decor, plunge pool are courtyard are all decked out in traditional Thai furnishings- a break from the mod, flash and 21st century mainstream hotels. Room was big, tea & coffee, four poster bed, large shower and TV. The plunge pool was a particular favorite to jump in to after a busy tourist day! Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Chiang Mai.

If you want a quiet, unpretentious boutique hotel with beautiful garden, a nice plunge pool and a delicious breakfast, then stay here. The staff at Baan Klang Wiang were attentive and gracious without being intrusive. My husband has a severe allergy to seafood and I'm a strict vegetarian, and they happily accommodated our dietary restrictions, going so far as to make copies of the Thai-language cards we'd brought with us. If we go back to Chiang Mai, we will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room.

This was our 4th stay in the past 18 months, and yes, we still love this place.

It is not in the centre of everything but it is wonderful to come back to. The staff are so welcoming and kind.

We are now on our way home but already hoping to return.

This was the first hotel I booked (even before the flights) as I fell in love with the pictures of it while I was researching our trip.

It has the feel of a rhiad, the rooms are big and cool and breakfast in the morning by the pool area is heavenly. It was a total pleasure to return to the Baan after our sightseeing every day.

The pool only has two sunbeds, but they always seemed free for us to use (maybe because we were staying there in low season), but if there were a number of guests using the pool at the same time it might be a bit awkward!

The way the hotel was lit in the evenings was restful and ambient.

A beautiful hotel, run by really lovely people who always had a smile every day.

Room Tip: We were allocated room 4 which was an upgrade, but certainly the best room as you could role out of...

The staff is great. They will do everything to help you out. We wanted to book tours but did not want to use cash. They called up tour agencies one by one and negotiated and got us one where the bus driver drove us to their office at the end of tour to pay by credit card and then back to hotel. Their breakfast is yummy and room is clean. We even got a complimentary fruit from their staff one day when we got back from tour. Very caring and considerate. Room is clean and free wifi everywhere. Definitely recommended.

I am sitting by the pool in a tranquil garden, quiet music playing, happily using wifi near the tables set up for breakfast by the pool. This place is a true oasis in Chiangmai, peaceful, very comfortable and so welcoming. The staff have been delightful, and I really feel as if I am an honoured guest in someone's home. Just one drawback....it's on a narrow street in the old city and a red taxi driver made us get out because he refused to drive down the lanes. We were rescued by a tuktuk driver who used Google Maps on his mobile phone to bring us 'home'.
