I'd like to say the RFB tried, and have their hearts into it. The facility itself is quite nice, but enclaved within a commercial area that's not a reasonable walking distance to the historic old town. Tuk-tuk is about 10min and 100ish Bhat. The rooms are nice but the photos are likely taken with a wide-angle lens. Restaurant selection is a bit thin but the staff are exceedingly polite. You get what you pay for- this is essentially a mid-level Econolodge dressing itself up as a Radisson, could be much better or a lot worse. But, do not rely on reception to get messages to you, and arrange your own tours. Avoid Tiger Kingdom (do the research on the owners & connection to "Chinese Medicine"), Doi Inthanon tour packages that involve cockfighting (all they offer), and booking anything with their tour partner, Amporn Tours. With Golden Triangle tour you spend vastly more time on the bus & they do not let you cross into Myanmar as advertised.

This was the second time I have stayed here [first with my daughter 2010,this time with my husband ] .When we arrived I was very surprised to see that most of the staff rembered me,considering how many people would have passed through there in that time ,many queries wheres the daughter ect.Check in was fast bags whisked off before we even finished our welcome juice! We stayed in the luxury rooms across from the pool,as I did last time {TA advice} and they were as good as the first stay. Fridge well stocked , bedroom clean, outdoor bath and garden imacculate. I found nothing was too much trouble for the staff a few of the younger waiters english was not too good , but were keen to practice if you didnt mind.We find this a perfect fit for us as it is only a quick tuk tuk from the markets, town ect but far enough away to be very peacefull except for the morning prayers over loudspeaker which didnt last for long ,{I think ther is a school or something nearby}.The staff are more than happy to arrange tours ect. but there is a permanent taxi there that is a family bussiness they have several vehicles so if one is out they will arrange transport for you.We went to the unbrella factory from there with the son thought we wouldnt be long 5hrs later still waiting in the car! whoops but no problem.I used the massage service at the spa several times over our two week stay and was very happy as stated before not as cheap as in town but still very good.I found the free wifi great but they also have a computer with internet available for guests use {free} if you dont have your own.Simply said we'll be back for 3 weeks this december.
