Great little guest house. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Some of the best meals I have had anywhere in Thailand. Rustic, very nicely appointed, comfortable rooms. Close to the old city, but located in a true jungle-forest setting. Quiet and peaceful, the perfect place to relax.

The forest Glen is certainly a place I would come back to. Located in the very heart of Chiang Mai it is but a tuk tuk ride from where ever you would like to go. Just make sure you check out the night market. The hotel itself is decorated in a very interesting way. Already when entering you feel like entering a forest. Most of the rooms follow up on this theme which makes the hotel really special and unique.

We had booked at 'Tharnthong Lodge in the Chaing Mai hills but needed to stay in the city for a bit. Prim at Tharnthong suggested we stay with her sister Pong and brother in law Pichean at 'Forest Glen' in the city. It was just perfect for us being nature people - its like an Oasis and tree hut getaway in the middle of the city! Very close to night bazaar and all markets, anything you need. We had the most delicious green curry and the food was awesome..(Drool). We found the hosts and the staff to be amazing and very caring.

We are very relaxed people and don't like to be fussed over so the relaxed feel was perfect. It was also super cheap and the driver they recommended was very entertaining! I hope all our NZ friends stay here.

The rooms were lovely for the price however, if your staying in the left wing (rooms 1, 2, 3 downstairs) there is something noisy (machine like) next door which makes sleeping hard...but the air conditioning blocks it out! Have a look outside your rooms, there are little pools with fishes, great place to relax...

Do: ask for a body scrub and masseuse to come to the hotel, the naturally beautiful hostess Pong will organise this and its the best massage me and my husband have ever had in the whole word..no jokes. Ask Pichean the best temples to go to .

Dont: drive...hire a driver for a day - its cheap. Also the main temple in Chiang Mai is waay commercialised..next time we will avoid it!

This is a place to stay, if you go to Chiang Mai. It is located at a center of a city. Easy access to many attractions. Night walking market, night barzar, downtown & you name it. We had a great time while we stayed there.

Highly recommend , if you plan to go during Songkran Festival.

From Bangkok, my family and I were trying to find a place to stay in Chiang Mai that's in the heart of Chiang Mai and doesn't cost much because we wanted to save money to do other activities. A local friend mentioned to me that there was this private bed n' breakfast that has good service and the price is pretty reasonable. For 1,200 baht a night (including breakfast), I think the privacy, uniqueness, friendly staff, and good location makes it a pretty good deal for Chiang Mai.
Situated in the Chiang Mai-Lumpoon road, there's 7 eleven and convenient stores close enough to get your necessities. I wasn't really concerned as much about getting to the night markets because there are local red trucks that only costs 20 baht to get there.
But in terms of the actual place, I loved the decoration and art pieces they have here. It's an interesting place that you could hang out, have drinks, read books, surf the net, and just chill.
Definitely recommend this place if you want cleanliness, good service, privacy, stylish, and a good deal during your stay in Chiang Mai. Happy travelling!!! :)
