I had my fair share of thai massage when i was training for fights here in 2005, but have not had any since then. based on a recommendation from our hotel reception, i've had 2 now at herbal massage, just 3 steps from our hotel.
like most places, they offer all types of massage as well as mani/pedi's. also tour operator and motobike/car rental.
it's a very simple, clean place. very little to no english. after a brief foot wash, i was led upstairs and my massage began on a floor pad (standard for almost every massage in asia). the tissue kneading is not too heavy. but then the stretching and bending begins. i was sore from a downhill mtn bike trip the day before, so it did hurt...but in a good way. my adductors, abductors, and hamstrings were screaming but it felt so good when she was done. ditto for the shoulder stretching. i did have to point at my neck and wave "no" due to previous cervial disc herniations, which she understood and stayed away from my neck.
the most relaxing is of course the head and face rub. then after sitting up and undergoing more stretching, the massage is done and i'm so relaxed yet alert and aware. all this for 180B.
i'll let my wife review her pedicure, which she said was terrible, but for thai massage, this is an excellent choice!
