We came here based on trip advisor reviews. The restaurant is a series of floating docks under canopies. It was cute and the kids enjoyed the environment. The food was tasty but not five star. We ordered two crab dishes where in each dish the crab was overcooked. The other dishes had good flavor but even though it is a local spot I think they might have dumbed down the spice for us. The pork with chili paste was great. Sweet and sour pork was good and the yellow Curry pork was tasty. Yes I would recommend you go if in the area but don't drive you far out of your way for it.

Thank Jay K

This was the second visit. My wife, 2 daughters and I went there in May 2007. This time around we brought along a group of friends. The place was still the same: ample parking lots, a huge kitchen, local crowds and a relaxing atmosphere by the lake. The service was instant. The dishes that we ordered including-tom yam kung, fried catfish, red curry pineapple shrimps, fried morning glory, 4 mixed vegetables and fried fish paste.Tom yam kung was spicy yet suitable to kids and the river shrimps were fresh, catfish was fried with 'sambal'-a Malaysian chilli paste and it was superb, red curry pineapple shrimps was children's delight as it was sweet sour and a little spicy. The most surprising dish was the fried fish paste-nothing similar anywhere. It was deep fried, looked like hamburger, yet it was tender, juicy, with mouthful of herbs. The price was cheap, one of our cheapest meals in Chiang Mai. And the Chang beer was only 55 THB.

I went with my husband the day after our horrible Flight of the Gibbon experience. This place was the perfect antidote to sour feeling from the day before. It was relaxed, the service was good, the staff were polite, and the food was very nice. Reasonably priced. A bit far from the city but well worth the trip.

We were a big group with children and the place could cater to our size as well as provide space for the children to run around before the food came. Just at the lake and thus the name floating restaurant I guess. The food was excellent authentic Thai food. Service was tip top as well.

After visiting all the factories this is a good place for lunch. The food is tasty with reasonable price. Natural view with authentic thai food but watch out for chillies... Is really spicy. Uploaded some photos of the dishes for u to see;)
