“Fabulous total dining experience”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

What a surreal experience having dined in many Italian restaurants over the years around the world including Italy it was difficult to believe we would experience the best to date in Thailand not intending to dine in at Favors that evening but heavy rain forced our hand in deciding to eat at one of the hotels restaurants thank you rain!

We enjoyed it so much we revisited the following night, second visits can often be an anticlimax never matching the first not in this case!

The service was highly polished attentive without being intrusive but made to feel extremely welcome by all.

We received a selection of breads and bread sticks the bread served eighty warm
This was accompanied with two different butters pesto and sun-blushed tomatoes and a dip similar to humus it was totally unexpected and free of charge. When we ordered our main course were asked if we would like our pasta Alidanty

I am not going to bore you with the details of our meals for fear of spoiling your experience, but the freshness and subtle use of ingredients made for a meal that far surpassed our expectations!!

The restaurant has contemporary style

The cheapest white wine was 1800bht aprox £40 Although we paid 1345bht because of a cellar promotion. Over the two nights with the one bottle of wine shared over the two the total cost per night for two averaged out at £35

My only criticisms are of the fixed style bench seats in parts of the restaurant which are slightly low when the large bowl arrived with my main course sitting nicely in it
I had to fully elongate my back to look in! But I should have asked for a cushion also the cost of the cheapest is not cheap despite the offer wine no house wine seemed to be available.

“Excellent Dinner”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

My family and I stayed at Le Meridien Chiang Mai in January 2013 and decided to stay in for dinner at Favola. We did not expect much just a nice dinner. However, the overall experience was better than we expected. Ake introduced himslef to me while I was at Latitude 18 and took care of our request. He also reconfirmed our reservation at Favola. Ake was a great host. When we arrvied at the restaurant, we were greeted by Ann, who took care of us thoughout the dinner. She was very attentive and made sure that we would enjoy our time there. Great service from Ann. The food was excellent with great presentation. Commendation to the Chefs. We would not have thought that Chaing Mai would have such an excellent Italian restaurant. I would recommend to dine here even if you don't stay at the hotel. We will be back to visit. Thank you for a great evening!
