Best in Chiang Mai

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 18, 2013
We have heard about this hotel from my lovely friends when we ask where is the best place to stay in Chiang Mai, they definitely recommend this place. They visited Ketawa last year with great experience. We strongly agreed with them;
1.The staffs are all girls and they served you with professional.
2.The location is super perfect. At night, you will get to the main road easily and there are many restaurants along the river. Do not forget to try Crispy Pork Leg at the GoodView!
3.We got our favorite color which we had confirmed from the hotel, Turquoise, which is large and the pillows are soft also the bed that made us don’t want to wake up!!!
4.Breakfast was delicious and in a good portion. Try Omelet with Ham&Cheese or Pancakes! They served you with fresh coffee, we love Cappuccino.
5.Nice decorated hotel which is very trendy and stylish as the hotel’s name.
Come and try! They made our trip perfect and memorable. We will return and confirm our friends that it is truth about this hotel.

I was in Chiangmai during Dec 23-25,2012...The first day I booked at Le Meridian Chiangmai and would like to extend my stay at that hotel but no room available. Therefore I need to find new place to stay for the second night. Unfortunately major good location hotel or B&B was fully booked except Ketawan Boutique Hotel which cost me THB2,980 while at Le Meridian , I paid THB3,700.
which is 720 baht more expensive but service I gained at Le Meridian is much more better.

The money I paid at Ketwan was super expensive comparing to service I got, the room and facility the place provide to the guest...terrible!! If I have other choice, I would not check in there.

The hotel location was deep in the small road, you have to walk around 5 minutes to the main road, dont talk about walk in the night time which I wont recommend!!!

Ketawan is in my black list place in Chiangmai. I won't go back there again for sure.

"PEOPLE" may like or dislike in the same thing depend on their mind.

It is hard to make everybody like the same thing.

But we keep trying to do our best though it is hardly possible...

Because it is nature of "PEOPLE"

B&B style place outside the historical center of Chiang Mai. Hotel location is quite during the day, but it can be noisy in the night from the buzz of nearby riverside restaurant - live music every night. Our room ( the orange one on the second floor) was spacious and nice smelling, but dark and not very comfortable. The bathroom is very simple, water temperature is regulated to mild and the bathroom sink gets only cold water! Breakfast, although included in price, is very basic and not tasty and have to be ordered one day ahead (e.g. you can either get omelette or muesli with yoghurt or eggs with bacon - the breakfast comes with 1 small croissant and 1 piece of weird toast bread. If you order tea you will get one cup of tea only!) Small pool is useless because it is sheltered and gets only little sun during the day. What is really nice is the riad style roof terrace. Hotel staff is willing to help but in general this place needs more attention and dedication to become something special

The rooms in this hotel were lovely and the hotel itself is in a very arty part of town which I loved. I was a little disappointed with one of the staff who didn't sem to want to help me with recommending things to do or which spa or course to book but to be fair it was off season when I was there so they perhaps weren't at their best and the other reviews say the service was good so I maybe had a bad experience. Also the breakfast is limited, there aren't really any healthy options on there but it is included so the deal is good value. The whole place seemed a little run down, the pool wasn't very clean and all the toiletries in my room the first day were watered down. Niggling things but I just think a wee bit more attention to detail would make this place really sing!

We stayed for 4 nights at Ketawa during our trip to Chiang Mai in August 2012. The staff was very nice, welcoming and always ready to help. The room was very spacious, stylish and worth money we paid for it. Hotel has only 12 rooms so it wasn't overcrowded and felt like at home!!! Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet is accessible throughout the hotel. Every room is decorated in its unique style and colour scheme. We chose Tangerine and weren't disappointed in our choice. Our room was equipped with LCD TV with international channels and A/C.
The only downside of Ketawa is its position. It is situated on a small quiet street far away from busy night life. But there are a lot of restaurants on the bank of the river within 5 min walk or night bazaar (20 min walk).
I hope this review will be helpful and you'll enjoy your stay at Ketawa as much as we did!!!!

Room tip: Every room in this hotel has its own colour scheme. Choose your favourite one!!!

Our stay at the hotel was abolutely amazing. Beautiful, very comfortable rooms, and excellent value for money. Friendly staff, good location, and every room has it's own color and scent theme. The best place I have ever been!
