“As close to nature as it gets!”

Will need a car to get here but it's a well preserved gem providing a nice Thai accent to your trip. Good clean rooms which is fairly big given that it's a all-villa resort. Good English speaking staff. Get villa 1 as it provides the best pool + mountain view.

Room Tip: Get villa 1 for best view

During journeys there are only a few hotels where you would like to come back again, and Baan Can – na is such a hotel.

When I planned my journey to the North, I intended to find a quiet place where I could have a real relax time. Baan Can – na was the one I found in the internet. My first impression was that this boutique hotel looked very homey and my first impression was right.

Baan Can – na is only 20 minutes from Chiang Mai down town, on the way to Mae Sa Valley. It is not very far, but far enough from hectic life in town. The hotel locates on the way to Mae Sa Valley, Queen Sirikit Botany Garden, Tad Mok Waterfall and more. When staying there I feel a real sense of serenity. The room is well design with teak floor, exotic decoration with romantic touch of bed with canopy.

After a long day trip to such touristic places, sleeping in the quiet place close to nature where you can watch shooting stars by the pool. Awake by cock crow, you are welcomed by the hotel owner who takes good care of you by a selective breakfast comprises aromatic freshly brewed coffee, tasty sausages with brown bread and eggs cooked at your order.

The day I left hotel, I told myself that I will come back again on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

As my wife is Thai, we try as regularly as possible to come from France - where we live - to Thailand, so as to meet with relatives and friends and discover new interesting places in a country where they are numerous.

Today, there is a new place which I enthusiastically recommend to people who, visiting Northern Thailand, plan to spend some time in Chiangmai area. Located 24 km north from Chiangmai, in the Mae Rim district, the "Baan Canna Country Resort" deserves, without any hesitation, the mention "superb".

First, because of its location. Its owners have built it on the land of a former paddy field overlooking a national parc, where impressive forest covered hills dominate the landscape. Therefore, one feels right away overwhelmed by a quiet harmony.

Second, the owners - from whom one receives a charming and highly competent welcome - have so conceived their resort so as to recall traditional Thai architecture. Guests are thus welcomed in a beautiful wooden reception pavillion with an adjoining dining room, where the setting and furniture could make jealous any foreigner appreciative of Thai traditional looking surroundings.

One should also underline that "Baan Canna Country Resort" is endowed with another positive feature: the resort is not big, as it includes six villas equipped with individual terrasses. (Let me add that the visitors who look for a place in the vicinity of a "hot"night club have better look for it in Chiangmai city...)

Needless to say, each villa includes all the facilities the most demanding guest could expect: large and beautiful bath room, living room with a king-sized bed, television, international telephone connection, internet access...Moreover, in the garden, the swimming pool allows one to swim while looking at the surrounding hills.

So do not hesitate to open the 'Baan Canna Country Resort" web site. Judging from the marvelous experience we recently had there, my wife and I, I am happy to recommend this beautiful resort to tourists looking for a place to rest in Chiangmai area, getting a flavour of the Thai way of life...
