“Jim is the man”

We stayed at Siri Guesthouse for four nights and were really rapt with the place. Asides from being clean, comfortable and affordable rooms, it was Jim, the owner, who really made it for us. Such a humble and helpful man. He booked all our activities with his knowledge of everything for cheap, even getting our licenses when they were confiscated by Thai police for not wearing a helmet on scooters! Jim sorted it. Shot.

We stumbled upon Jim's Siri Guesthouse by chance, and it was great value for money. Jim also made bookings for us without a commission so it was cheaper to book through him.

We absolutely loved our stay at Siri guesthouse! We payed 400 baht a night in high season for AC. The room was clean and comfortable. There wasn't any T.V but you arnt in Chiang Mai to watch T.V! The guesthouse owner was AWESOME! He gave us so many tips on places to go and things to do and there was no pressure to book a tour through him, like some guesthouses apperently do. We did book a tour through the guesthouse on his recomendation and we had a really good day and afterwards the owner even asked whether we would recommend the tour to others. So he would know his guests would be satisfied. Its located right in old town near the bars and restaurants but down a side street so its actualy quiet. I would highly recommend staying at Siri guesthouse.

great hostel, super value, good location (central but on a quiet backstreet), set in a pretty courtyard, run by a lovely family who are super helpful and will go out of their way to help you make the most of your stay in Chiang Mai.

We read about Siri in the Lonely Planet but ruled it out as LP says the guest house doesn't have air con. This, however, is not true, as all rooms on the first floor now have air con, the rooms on the ground floor still have fans only.

We paid 400Baht per night for a double with air con with ensuite. Both the room and the bathroom are spacious and spotlessly clean. The air con works well and there's an additional fan. There's a cupboard and a bed side table, but ideally the room could do with a desk or so. The mattress is super comfy, the sheets clean.

There's free WIFI that even works in the rooms!

Siri's is in a quiet location, but still only a few minutes walk to all the shops and restaurants. As with most places in Thailand, there's a 7Eleven just round the corner. There's a little cafe downstairs that does breakfast. You HAVE TO try the chocolate pancakes!! :)

Jim, the owner, is a fantastic guy. He's always willing to help you out and can always give good advice on what to do (and, very importantly, how much a tuk tuk to a certain place should cost). There's a ton of information on tours and stuff to do, and you can book everything through Jim.

There's an iron gate, which is locked at night, so we always felt very safe staying here.

We stayed here for a week and felt like at home. We will definitely be back!

We moved here from a guest house down the road where the rooms were grubby and were so glad that we did!
From the moment we arrived Jimmy was the perfect host. The room was spotless and spacious and although there was no aircon the fans were good enough. Jimmy recommended lots of places to see and when we needed a tuk tuk made sure we paid no more than a local would. I would highly recommend staying here - its safe and clean and in a great little side street in the old town.

The rooms are big enought, the stuff is really nice and the prices are low. We are 3 people and spend 4 nights at this Guesthouse and we would come back here.
