“Luxury spa in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed January 22, 2011

We went here twice during our stay in chiang Mai and it is everythingbwe hoped for. We did a 2 hour and 4 hour packages during our two visits. They were both excellent. The pictures on the website is right on the spot. Definitely suggest trying any of their scrub and the herbal Thai massage. We tried several spas in chiang Mai during our stay and this one tops the list in every respect.

When I am back in Thailand this is the first place I will be visiting.

“Very nice and very professional”
Reviewed February 11, 2010

A group of 3 ladies and myself used the AKA Spa for 3 hours of services. We each picked our own package and was able to get the special that ended in Oct for Jan as I booked early. It figured about $60 for 3 hours. The facility is very clean, soft music playing and they serve you tea when you arrive. It was very relaxing and I would not hesitate to do it again. Since we were on a special package we had to pay them for picking us up at the hotel and returning us.

“Spa Heaven in Chiangmai, Thialand”
Reviewed September 28, 2008

Zen to the max is the definition of the experience of this beautiful, tranquil and enchanting spa. My husband and I just showed up one afternoon and requested 2-hour spa treatments, and it was as if we had made a reservation weeks ago and they were expecting us!

We were greeted with traditional Thai warmth and a friendly Wai. After they replaced our street shoes with comfy slippers with upturned toes, we were treated to ginger tea and a fragrant cold towel to wipe away the afternoon sun from our faces as we studied the spa menu to decide on our treatment.

We decided on the 2-hour AKA Asian Style Massage and it was a great decision. We were lead up the open staircase to a serene 2-person massage room complete with a spotless tiled shower and bathroom. After a quick shower we eased on to the massage tables that were made into beds with huge terry towels.

Once you are on the table with your face situated in the u-shaped opening, face down, you realize you are gazing into a shallow bowl of floating lotus flowers. The soft Thai music is barely audible in the background and a sweet faint fragrance of lemongrass and ginger envelops the room.

The two gentle but strong masseuses quietly enter the room and begin the massage with hot towels wrapping your feet, followed by firm and well-executed acupressure to just the right points on the soles o the feet. Slowly the massage works up the calves...painfully for me, but never deep enough for my husband. The first hour is concentrated by traditional Thai acupressure techniques from the soles of your feet to the base of your skull.

The second hour (believe me, it goes by very fast) is a more traditional Swedish style oil massage, but still with an acupressure technique. The grand finale is the face and sinus massage followed by the deep pressure scalp massage.

As the masseuse moves up your body, you realize that the short 2 hours are almost over...sadly.

After a quick shower you are escorted back down the stairs for another herbal tea followed by a written survey of your treatment. How could it be anything but excellent in every respect? Words cannot describe the blissful feeling of muscles properly massaged into submission under skilled masseuses' hands...hmmm!

P.S. the photos on the website are accurate, but don't do the ambiance of this Zen retreat justice...yes, it's even better than it looks!
