Le Meridien Chiang Mai

I stayed at the Le Meridien Chiang Mai twice in September 2012 for our company conference. While there were many tourists, we were able to conduct our business with no interference. The facilities were adequate and service was prompt. I had an hour plus between the conference and dinner on thenlast day and decided to walk the city. The map provided was easy to use and I managed to cover more than five kilometers because the hotel was so conveniently located. I received an email from the hotel afterwards to ask about my stay. I gave my compliments as well as some feedback on minor matters such as morning calls. To my pleasant surprise, I received a response within the same day. Great service experience.

We stayed at Le Meridien June 25-27th. It was a quick cab ride from the airport. We had a Studio corner room on the 7th floor. The room was large, spacious, and extremely clean. Bed was super comfy. The bathroom was to die for. The bathtub faced a big window with a great city view and the shower was large. The odd thing about the shower was it was just the floor space right next to the tub.

Hotel itself is gorgeous with an incredibly beautiful lobby area. Check in was quick and easy. The pool is a bit small for a hotel that size but its still decent. We had a deal with the breakfast buffet. Omg! This has to be the best breakfast ive eaten. Everything was fresh and delicious! The juices were plentiful in variety. The food was just incredible. So so worth it!!

The hotel is very close to the Night Bazaar which in itself is quite an adventure. We were trying to decide between Le Meridien and Dusit D2. Soo glad we went with Le Meridien! Dusit is literally right smack in the middle of the Night Bazaar and stalls are setup right at the entrance of Dusit.. Theres also some gogo bar behind Dusit and it almost looks like they share an entrance.

My only gripe is that wifi is not free. The complimentary 1hr wifi only works in the lobby/pool area however you can request extra passwords.

For tours, use the tour companies located further down near the night bazaar. Way cheaper than the hotel. For eats, try the Whole Earth restaurant down the street. Yummy food! One of the best i had in thailand. Note you will need to take your shoes off so be prepared.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Get a corner room if you can!

Stayed here for 2 days on our short weekend trip to Chiang Mai. The rooms were very nice, which is standard for Le Meridien. The stay was cheap at $90 USD a night for all the amenities it offers. Hotel staff was great and the pool had a great view. Location was right by the night markets, so we were able to grab a cheap bite quickly. We didn't really use a cab to go anywhere, the temples were a longer walk, but nothing too daunting - the walk there was pleasant. Chiang Mai is a great deal slower than the other Thai cities I've been to, so I really appreciated the pace for a weekend vacation with couples.

He hotel is beautiful, elegant, and clean. Our king room was very large with an amazingly comfortable bed.

The staff was very pleasant and always helpful, you can even ask for 1 hour complimentary Internet passwords and they will give them to you all day long.

The location was perfect for visiting the night market and everything is only a couple dollars away by tuktuk. There is a laundry out the hotel and to the right that will wash your clothes for the next day for only 20 baht per kilo.

The restaurant is overpriced but one block to the right of the hotel is an excellent breakfast place called cafe siam that has western style breakfast. The doorman recommended it and we were not disappointed.

Hotel is very nice. Pool has good view, even it is not big.
Clean room and cozy.
Very convenience to go out at night.
Night blazer is just at corner, lots of restaurant around. 24 hour fast food shop is oppsite of the road.
Price is the only concern, but worth the many you spend.

Walk from here to night market, bars and cafes. Starbucks and McDonalds around the corner for families with young ones who may need a western meal. Laundry place right opposite the hotel. Room is clean and big and service is excellent. Spent 2 nights here and the rate was very reasonable given that it's a luxury hotel.
