My husband and I really enjoyed our day at the Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School. We started off at the markets learning about the ingredients. Then we were taken out to the open air kitchen in Chef Sompons home. Each participant was assigned a wok burner, apron and equipment. The lesson began with a demonstration by Chef Pon in the airconditioned kitchen, we would then all go out to our own cooking station and cook the dish ourselves. In total we cooked and ate 6 dishes, Pad siew, Steamed Fish in Banana Leaf, Yellow Chicken Curry, Chicken with Cashews, Spicy Prawn Salad and Bananas in Coconut milk. At the end of the day we took home a cook book so that we would have all the recipes. Chef Pon was a great teacher and very entertaining. All in all, a great day!
