“More chilli, more spicy, more sexy!!”

Our teacher Beerry was brilliant, he was so funny and really helped to break ice with everyone at the beginning. His English was excellent and he knew all answers to questions and explained the ingredients (and the tools) very well. You cooked 5 dishes which gave us plenty of variety, and the ingredients where top quality! We chose the farm experience which had really nice setting and we walked around the farm and seen the vegetables. The cookbook we received at the end is the best iv ever received from cooking class, everything has pictures and very good explanations. My only issue was our group had too many people, there was 14 but the max they normally take is 12. It means u get a lot less one on one time and it got quite hectic at times trying to follow what everyone was cooking. Apart from this we had a great day and would recommend to anyone :-)

“Bad logistics but great coach with a smile”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

We booked the one-day cooking class with Asia Scenic via our hotel staff 2 days before class date. We paid for the one-day class with farm tour and were told to wait at the lobby by 8.30am to 8.45am as the class starts at 9am. We since 8.30am and waited for 30mins before asking the hotel to call the school to check. The reply is they came by before but found no one so left. So we told them we were here by the assigned time and that we have paid for the class already, please come asap. Driver came 30mins later. In total we waited one hour and this is bad management. The driver didn't even apologize. They put us in the day class with city tour --> Mistake number 2. This class is cheaper than what we paid but my issue is the simple logistics which all went wrong.

We however decided to stick to our coach, Beary who made the rest of our day great and fun for us. We learnt to cook thai food with 'emotion'. Beary was funny from the first minute to last. He answered our queries confidently too and sent us back to our hotel personally. At the end of the day when we reached our hotel, we realised he was new in Chiangmai - only a month there so far!

Without Beary, my rating would've been a bad 1-point. Beary raised my rating of the class single-handedly. Great job, Beary. Keep it up!!

“Our Teacher Arm was Great!! Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

This class was a wonderful experience. Arm helped us prepare one of the best meals we ate in Thailand! We learned some great techniques that we will use at home.. My wife and I took the evening class and completely enjoyed it. We are from Minnesota - USA, the group we ate and learned with consisted of three from Ireland, two from Germany and one from Israel. It was so much fun talking, eating and learning with this fun group of people from around the world.

“I can cook now!”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it. We participated in the half day cooking class and made three dishes. Our teacher was Anne, and she was great. We started with a trip to the local market where she explained the different types of rice and spices. We then started with making our stir fry dishes, followed by dessert and the curry dish. I am a terrible cook and was very surprised that I was able to cook really tasty dishes that were simple and easy to prepare. Hopefully I can duplicate this at home. At the end of the class, everyone is given a lovely recipe book that contains all the instructions and ingredients on what you prepared in class. A really fun experience!

Btw, if you are staying at the Tamarind Village hotel, this school is literally a five minute walk away.
