My family and I stayed at this place for a couple days and we were glad we did. From the landscaping to the bathrooms, this hotel as a whole is very nicely decorated and well laid out. The breakfast that was included was tasty and filling. This place is a great value. I will stay there again next time I'm in Chiang Mai.

Have just finished a stay here for the last 5 days and can say its great value for money.
The hotel is close to the old town centre and all the markets, easy walking distance but there is always a cab or tuk tuk out the front as well.
Stayed in a bunk room with a mate next to the pool. The communal bathrooms are good - clean and never full even though there were plenty of guests. The only downside to the room was that the walls were paper thin, which would be fine but there was a loud tour group staying at the same time as us. Again not terrible but just something to keep in mind.
The breakfast is good mostly, although it's dependent on what containers they use for the food. The first two mornings they left the eggs and pancakes in open containers so they were cold, but they swapped to containers with lids on the last two mornings and it was then fine. Seems a strange thing to mess up.
The restaurant across the road makes delicious and cheap pad Thai (40 baht) - definitely recommend it.
The front desk staff varied from incredibly friendly to completely disinterested. If you go and find them unhelpful, just wait till the next shift and the good staff will probably be on.
Overall good and I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 4 nights in December 2013. It is possibly the best hostel I've ever stayed in. from the stunning arboreal gardens (each tree has it's standard and latin name signed) to the delightful and clean pool to the lovely little restaurant with free breakfast this place has it all. It is not in the bustling centre of Chiang Mai old town but that is a small price to pay (about 100THB or £2 for a taxi) to stay at such a gorgeous place. Well worth it and excellent VFM.

The resort is located in a very nice spot with a green garden surrounding the buildings that again surround a 25-meter swimming pool.
We booked two superior rooms. They were nicely equiped but the walls are paper thin so conversations from neghboring rooms are heard clearly.
The breakfast is served in an open/outdoor restaurant with a very nice atmosphere. The breakfast is a mix of continental and thai style food with all the coffee, tea and juice you can drink. Really nice personel.
On the doors there is a sign telling that the doors must be kept closed at all times due to mosquitos, but each day when the rooms are made, all doors are opened widely for a half an hour.
The laundry service consists of two washing machines that each cost 5x10 baht coins to run. The only problem is that the reception does not offer the service to change 100 baht notes to coins which makes it a bit difficult to use and I thus had to go out to visit a couple of shops to get 10 coins ...

Room Tip: Go for the Deluxe rooms as they seem to be more quiet and well equiped than the superior rooms

I had a fabulous time here. I was only meant to be here for 2 days but I just had to stay an extra night. This place truly has everything. A hotel, a gym, communal showers but so classy and unique I felt like I was part of some cool hippie commune hahaaha! The buffet breakfast is a treat too. You'd be mad to pay more for accomodation in Chiang Mai than be here. Come to Eco!!

Absolutely no complaints about this place personally: hence 5 stars.

Others staying at the same time as me have complained about noise from landscaping work or being able to hear neighbors. Can't say that that stuff ever bothered me during my four nights, but there you go.

BTW: 600 Thai Baht (about $20 USD) for a 90 minute massage in my room? Hell yeah!

This place is something of a sweet spot between a youth hostel and a nice budget hotel. There are some $10USD/night options with communal bathrooms on the low end and my $65USD/night suite closer to the top end of what they offer.

The wifi was kind of frustrating at times, but there are restaurants and coffee shops nearby. On that note, there are really good restaurants and coffee shops nearby! :-) The place just across the street is absolutely delicious!

If I come back to Chiang Mai, I'm probably going to stay here again unless I really feel like splurging.

My partner and I stayed in Eco Resort for two weeks while doing a training course in Chiang Mai. The swimming pool is definitely the highlight of this resort. It is a gorgeous swimming pool, well lit in the evenings and cleaned every day. The rooms also are cleaned every day and new towels on request. The rooms themselves are quite basic, we were given two single beds, mosquito nets, a table, a chair, a towel rack and a small mirror. The toilets and showers were located at the end of a long hallway and were of course shared. The rooms are air conditioned.
Every morning they put out a Western (cereal, pancakes, sausages, eggs, toast, juice, tea/coffee) and Thai breakfast. For lunch or dinner there was a lovely man and his wife who ran a restaurant directly opposite the resort - their food is lovely and very cheap.
The location of the resort is a bit outside the city, about 10mins by Tuktuk and should not cost more than 50-70 baht. The staff are pleasant, we did not have much dealings with them to be honest. But they allowed us to leave our bags there for four days when we went to Pai.
It's cheap and cheerful, no honeymoon destination but fine for somewhere to rest your head when passing through.
