Stayed here for a week - booked by email and the staff replied very quickly. We had to change our proposed date and they were very helpful.

Check in was brill and Nan was really helpful, she sat with us for a while answering all of our questions and suggesting stuff to do/places to eat.

The room is plush. For 350bhat we have stayed in some ... well holes.. but Banilah is just excellent. You get cable tv, fan, towels (changed when you want!), free water, free soap, free shower gel (replenished daily), daily room clean - something you would expect in a 4/5 star hotel.

Nan, Nock and O are just great they are so helpful and polite - we are sad to leave after being made to feel so welcome. We watched a movie, downstairs, had free wifi in the room and above all a very peaceful nights sleep.

One of the best guesthouses we have had the pleasure staying at - thanks for having us guys.

The guesthouse located in the local community area. You will experience with a local lifestyle rather than a tourist place. The room is well decorated with northern Thai boutique. With a small private room, you could also sit at the front of coffee shop at the guesthouse and take a rest with a cup of cappucino or a glass of ice Thai milk tea which are simply delicious. It is a warm and suitable place for me. Thank you for Ob, a manager, and Nok, a lovely staff, who take good care of me for my long stays.

great little place in a real authentic thai area... a bit of a student area so very lively in the evenings, lots of restaurants etc. slightly off the beaten track but only a ten minute ride away from the tourist spots. The staff and owner were very helpful. It has a beautiful coffee shop at the front with a massive selection of dvds to watch. The rooms are tastefully designed and a bargain price. Close the door quickly to avoid the plentiful and hungry mosquitos. Also, don't stay on the ground floor if you're easily woken by people coming back late at night. Apart from that a really lovely place...a gem.

The Banilah was an excellent place to stay!

Upon our visit, the guesthouse staff quickly welcomed us and check us in. We had the air conditioned room (I recommend it), and it was very clean and comfortable.

The location is probably not for all travellers. The guesthouse is located within the local community, up in the north-west part of the town. So it's not near the inner city, nor the tourist night market areas, etc. The guesthouse always seems to have a "resident" tuk-tuk driver, and he always took us into town for around 40-50 Baht. Coming back, it was around 60 Baht... you have to bargain a bit to get a good deal. Most tuk-tuk drivers start around 100 to 150 Baht - but you can easily get them down to 60.

The area is quite nice - and very local. The guesthouse staff give you a map, and describe the local area. Use them for advice - they are so friendly, serve the best coffee, and really go out of their way to make your stay great!

Without a doubt, I would stay there again! This review came a little late, but the place was so great I had to come and write a review.

We stayed in an AC room (THB 500 a night) for a few nights and found it lovely, the place is quite new.

Room wasn't huge and the bathrrom (with typical Thai shower) was connected to the room through an outside door, but it was clean and quite smartly decorated with cable TV. Fresh soap, linen, and drinking water every day.

The common room has free internet as well as large LCD tv and DVD collection. Op and her staff were fantastic, spoke great English and were very helpful and always eager to please.

Whilst it isn't in the Old Town or Riverside everything you need is close by, i.e. restaurants, Tesco, laundry service, bars etc. and I loved the area. No pushiness and everyone was really friendly. It costs about 80 baht to get back from Night Bazaar by tuk tuk.
