We stayed for 5 nights in October 2012. The hotel is in a peaceful location next to the ping river. Tuk-Tuks cost around 80baht into the old town. The gardens and sun deck are a pleasant place to relax and the pool is nice though a little too cold.

Rooms are well appointed and very clean. Wifi is free as is breakfast. Staff are excellent. The spa is reasonable - good staff but not the most luxurious or relaxing ambiance.

The only let down was the bar and restaurant. Often a simple drink as diet coke was not available. Service was slow.

Overall a decent hotel and we would use again.

I Cant say enough good things about this hotel. The breakfast was amazing, the staff was all so friendly and accommodating. They had so so many tour options very good priced and helped us book them on the right days and times. Caling and confirming the day of. The rooms were very clean and spacious! The Air conditioner worked fabulous, beds where comfortable. I felt safe here at all times.

Was surprised at how well-maintained this hotel was.. As I booked this hotel with points, I cannot comment on price, but it was a very stylish, yet comfortable hotel.

Only complaint - seemed a little out of the way of all the action. I like walking around exploring, and I had to take a tuk-tuk into town.

BUT - Staff were amazing and helpful.. and the rooms were a complete dream.

aruntara was a lovely place to stay. The rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated, as is the lobby and the little courtyard. Didn't feel like an "standard" anonymous hotel at all. The staff are very helpful, they set us up with a great elephant tour. The spa was great too. It's about a 10-15 minute ride to the night bazaar and town centre area by tuk-tuk for less than 100 baht, and the hotel runs a free shuttle service every evening as well. The one thing I'd flag is that the pool doesn't get any direct sunlight and is very shallow, like 1.2 metres or something so don't plan on doing much swimming here. But there's plenty of other great things to do in chiang mai and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

modern meets traditional Lanna touch. hotel and rooms are clean and looks fairly new. Modern toilet with rain shower and Jacuzzi. Like the idea of separating the shower with WC area and the other side is a wash basin with Jacuzzi. So when someone is having a shower you can still wash your face at the wash basin outside.
comfortable bed. great service. Very accommodating staffs, always willing to offer advise and assistance in booking for spa outside of hotel although they have an in house spa service. We tried 2 other spas which are pretty good at a cheaper rate than the hotel spa. See my other reviews on the spas.
location wise it is not on any busy street, 7-11 just short walk through an alley. but thb80 tuk tuk will get you to the major nearby shopping and restaurants.
breakfast is basic american with eggs cooked fresh for you and sausages, bacon, 2 local rice or noodle dish.
the hotel compound is really beautiful, especially the green and the river is just so peaceful. Small pool though.
would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday.
