We stayed one night at Lamphu Tree House - we had just arrived to Bangkok at the start of our Asia trip so when we got a free upgrade to their 'penthouse' floor we were quite happy to say the least! The hotel is well located - 5 mins through a safe area to Khao San Road. We stayed in a second building they seem to have just a 2 minute walk away - it means you're not in the main building where the reception/restaurant/swimming pool is but it didn't matter to us for one night but may do if you were staying for a few nights. Our room was fab - on the 7th floor - like a mini suite with a separate living room and big balcony overlooking the city...I think we got the best room in the place although we had only booked a standard room! The staff were friendly and helpful. Our bags had not turned up at the airport when we arrived and we waited for hours until they were delivered to the hotel...the hotel rang on a number of occasions on my behalf to try speed the process up however. Breakfast was a buffet set-up and was quite good. We ate in the hotel's restaurant on the first evening as it was convenient and it was reasonably good. The swimming pool is just off the reception area - it's quite small but looked inviting although we didn't get to using it. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

I stayed for a few days at this hotel in August. It is a really nice hotel which I tucked away in a nice quiet spot. It is only a short walk to the tourist areas.
It has a nice pool area, a little small but really refreshing. The hotel seemed to have lots of families and other travellers.
The staff were really helpful and sorted out a taxi to the airport for 500bht.
The highlight was breakfast which was great. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!

We stayed here on our first night in Bangkok and ended up comparing every other hotel we stayed at to the Lamphu Tree House. PRINT THE MAP and take it with you wherever you go to show the drivers how to arrive as it isn't that easy to find!!

After booking a deluxe room, it turned out that they didn't have that room available and upgraded us to a suite (normally 3,500 THB) for the same price as the deluxe room (normally 1,650 THB). We couldn't have been happier. The suite is on the 4th floor of the main building and you have to take an elevator to the 2nd floor then climb 2 flights of stairs to where the suites are located. This area has it's own mini bar area as well as chairs and sitting area that overlooks Bangkok. This view will take your breath away.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and luxurious.

The location is PERFECT - 5 minutes walk to Khao San Road and 15 minutes walk to all the major tourist attractions - Wat Pho and the like. It is in the center of everything.

Service was amazing, the staff helped you with whatever you needed. We left our baggage the next day while we went exploring the city in the baggage room. They leave your bags in a secured room with a tag so they know whose bags are whose.

We also ate dinner here on the first night and everything we ate was wonderful but I especially recommend the chicken satays, the peanut sauce they have, I found, was one of the best that we tried in Thailand.

The pool is inviting, but we didn't get a chance to use it. In short, one of the two best hotels we stayed in throughout Thailand. You won't go wrong staying here.

Room Tip: Rooms on the fourth floor, I think there are 5 in total, have the best views of the city from the si...

Average hotel but the entrance is very hidden and therefore difficult to find for taxi's. The small street to the entrance smells terrible as well as the swimmingpool area. However the breakfast is good, room is ok and staff is very friendly.

Great little hotel tucked away from the craziness, yet still close enough to the action. Stayed here at the beginning of our trip. It's a little tricky to find, as its tucked away off the street, but when u find it, it's a serene little escape in an otherwise busy world. The staff were friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean and cozy... And had A/C. A 5-10 min walk to Khao San Road, where all the action is. Breakfasts were tasty, fresh fruit and a small Buffett. Didn't get a chance to use the pool, but looked very clean a s refreshing Overall, a great place to stay.

Excellent value for money and excellent service. Staff all very friendly and can't do enough for you. Would definitely stay there again. The map sent when booking is helpful as some taxi drivers don't know where it is. Also beware of Tuk Tuk drivers, many are con artists and take you to tailors and jewellers where they are on commission rather than where you want to go.

This a family-friendly boutique hotel which is well located near Khao San Road, Wat Pho, and the Grand Palace without being in the middle of hordes of backpackers. I'd recommend the superior room with divan for a family. (You can add an extra bed as well.) It's a nicer corner room with two walls of windows and a wrap-around deck.

The hotel has a free breakfast buffet with a wide array of hot and cold choices. My boys (ages 10,13) especially enjoyed afternoon dips in the the pool. While it is quite small, it provides some relief from the Bangkok heat.

The only negative: housekeeping needed to be reminded to clean room.

Also, check your bill carefully. We were not charged the discounted rate agreed to via email. After a lengthly conversation with the reception clerk, it was corrected.
