Being a regular traveller to BKK and having tried quite a number of different hotels in the Sukhumvit area, Park Plaza offered one of the best experiences. Location was great - at the junction of Sukhumvit and Ratchadaphisek Roads and 5 mins walk to Asoke BTS. Dining & entertainment options all walking distance. Hassle-free check-in and out. Staff very attentive and helpful. Room was well-designed, modern and clean. WiFi was very good. If there ever was a complaint, it is that the laundry service is expensive. But no worries on that as laundry shops abound along Sukhumvit. Overall, a great experience and I will return to this hotel on my next visit.

As others have said this is a great location with relatively good access to the Skytrain (Asok Station) and the Metro being just a short walk (~250 meters) away. The hotel is clean and modern with a rooftop pool

The staff tried really hard to look after us well but our stay was marred by a couple of minor issues. Our first stay was for 4 nights on arrival in Bangkok and the second was for a further 3 nights about 2 weeks later just before we flew home which we booked after our first stay

On our first stay the curfew had just been started and was running from 10pm to 5am, we wanted to leave the hotel at 4am to get a 7am flight out to Koh Samui but when we tried to organise a taxi the hotel said that it wasn't possible and that we would have to use their limo at a cost of 1600Baht (double to cost of our taxi we used on arrival). We argued with the reception staff a little and pointed out that we had read on the FCO website that the taxis could run to the airport provided they had passenger with tickets and passports etc. Eventually the reception arranged a what we were told was a taxi at little inflated price (1000Baht) which we were OK with because of the time and the curfew we expected the price to be a little higher than normal. We were surprised to find that the taxi was the hotel limo and it left us feeling a little confused - May be its a Thai cultural thing but why not just tell us it was the limo and not a taxi that had been arranged.

The second issue was over a cocktail during our second stay. We had to order it twice because either the waitress didn't hear or didn't understand but after 20 minutes of waiting we realised that something was wrong. When the cocktail (a Maithai) finally arrived there we couldn't taste any alcohol in it and when we asked the waitress she became a bit evasive but clearly knew what should be in it - I was convinced it was a fruit punch her manager came over to discuss with us but we were keen to go out for an evening meal on our last night in Bangkok so my wife didn't drink the cocktail. The waitress and her manager called later that evening to apologise for any misunderstanding with a fruit basket but I declined the offer because we were packing our cases and we would never have been able to eat the fruit. I now realise that the refusal of a gift might have caused offence to a Thai so feel maybe I made things a bit worse for the waitress - I sincerely hope not.

We would probably still go back to this Hotel again but stay for a shorter time in Bangkok now we have done the major tourist sites.

Dear "Rich"

Thank you for taking the time to post a review for future traveler to read and apologized for the issue during your stay with us.

We have well noted the confusion with the Cocktail and the delay in delivering it, our restaurant team will be brief and we will ensure that the cocktail menu is well know by the entire team.
We understand that the fruit basket may not have been the best apologize gift on a departure and our waitress did not take any offense not accepting it.

Once again thank you for sharing your comments, it is with valuable comments like yours that we will ensure our service standards remains at the highest at all given time

Really friendly service, and smart quite groovy rooms for this price range. Initially we thought the location was not great, but after walking around realized it was actually really handy. Right by Asok BTS station (3 minutes walk), and with enough local eateries and bars in the area once you have your bearings. Easy trip on BTS to major shopping areas (5-10 minutes). We didn't include breakfast with our room, as we usually try and avoid hotel breakfasts. However we struggled to find anything much open around us apart from a few food stalls, until after 10am. We were on the 9th floor, so no street noise. But quite thin walls, so could hear the tv in the room next door fairly easily.

Dear "MJMCD"

Thank you for posting a review for future TRIPADVISOR traveler to read.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us while visiting Bangkok.
Our prime location, 3 minutes walk or 200 meter from Skytrain and Subway make it very easy to travel around the city for shopping or sightseeing. We are across the street of the first shopping mall and few minutes walk from entertainment street, 3 skytrain stop away from Siam square, MBK and one stop from Emporium shopping mall.

Restaurant other than street food will usually open after 10 am, as only few places will open for breakfast but mainly early lunch until late night. Most shopping mall with huge food court will also open around 10 - 11 am.

Once again, thank you for the time spend on the review and should you need any assistance in the future or get the best deal available, please do not hesitate to contact me of my colleague directly at any time.

We have stayed at the Park Plaza on Soi 18, but thought we'd try this hotel for 2 nights. After finding it, it was great. It's a bit difficult to find. If you think you're going the wrong way -- keep walking from the BTS station Asoke. Clean, nice, quiet. Very Good. My wife enjoyed their pasta lunch buffet. Close to Terminal 21 and good restaurants. Will stay again!!
