This is a nice contemporary clean and affordable hotel in a great location (5 minute walk from the skytrain and a 400 baht cab ride from the airport. My wife and i stayed here 4 nights and we were very comfortable. Complimentary water everyday and free wi-fi is a huge plus. The beds are of medium firmness and quite comfortable - which was very important after 24 hours of flying from the U.S.

We stayed in room 607 in a deluxe corner room. And it looked as though it was recently renovated - Really clean bathroom (new tiles). There is a nice sized tub and shower. Being a foodie, I thought that The resturant food was decent and the breakfast buffet was just ok, but pricey for Bangkok ($15 US dollars per/person). There is a small rooftop pool and gym (which we never used).

The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Tips:
1. get the deluxe suite with either a corner room or room facing the street. It's worth it and big enough for 2 people.
2. If you need conceirge help, ask for Ken. He was very knowledgable about resturants and bars. One night we were looking for a place to go and Ken gave us a coupon to a bar. It was free admission and good for 2 free drinks. A nice place to people watch and we enjoyed the music the djay played. The bartenders are friendly and chatty.
3. if you want groceries, hit Foodland. Take a right when you exit the hotel, then cross the street bridge to the other side. A 5 minute walk.
4. if you have multiple devices that need a wi-fi connection (we had 2 iphones and an ipad) just ask for multiple passwords. 1 password per device.
5. there is a new huge 7 level mall a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There are literally 200+ stores, if you like to shop like me. There are also many cheap food options at the food court.
6. if you want to take a cab anywhere, I'd suggest taking the yellow and green ones (the only ones that seem to know where they're going). And confirm that the driver really knows where he is going.. Most cabs seems to get lost a lot????? One cab couldn't find a resturant which was 5 minutes away from the hotel and another got lost taking us to the airport!! Really??!?

Overall, i would recommend this hotel for a 3-4 night stay because it's comfortable, convenient and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

I was impressed from the moment I checked into the hotel at about midnight in early November, when I quickly realized how warm, sincere, and welcoming the staff were. I loved the decor of the room; it was clean and modern and had all the necessary amenities. Room service was phenomenally speedy and the presentation and quality of the food was superb. The rooftop pool was beautiful and serene. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from both the Airtrain and the subway, which makes it very easy to navigate the city.

Just prior to my visit, Bangkok suffered the worst flooding it had experienced in 50 years. Before I left the U.S., I emailed the hotel to make sure it was safe, and the staff responded quickly and reassured me that that particular neighborhood was okay. When I arrived, staff helped me book a couple of day trips away from the flooded areas. I thought it was great (and socially responsible) that staff had placed a box for guests to donate money to the victims of the terrible flooding. While I always felt safe and secure during my stay, it was the ethical and humane thing to do to remind more fortunate folks that some people were - and had been - suffering for some time.

Every staff member I ran across during my stay was gracious and kind and extremely hospitable, even as the city was undergoing a considerable amount of stress.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Having been to Bangkok on the way too and back from living in New Zealand I have had the pleasure of being treated to many of the 'tourist' and cultural attractions this majestic city has to offer. I stayed with a friend at the Park Plaza in June 2011 as part of a stop-over for a few days to get suits made and enjoy the luxury of a top end hotel before heading home.

The room was a little on the small side for 2 six foot plus men/boys, but that really is me being picky as thats the only negative I can think of from our 3 night stay. The room was perfectly well equipped and furnished with everything you'd expect from a hotel of Park Plaza's quality and star rating. The interior design of the rooms and the hotel itself is very modern, clean and visually stunning. The concierge and all other members of staff at the hotel were superb, have always found this with many areas of Thailand, the quality of service in the country is really second to none in my opinion. Breakfast is well worth partaking in as it is a buffet style and the variety to choose from is more than ample, a delicious way to start your morning. Public transport in Bangkok is very easy to use and cheap, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from the BTS Skytrain Asoke Station, which is a great way to get around the centre of the city, likewise the taxi's are very cheap and the concierge at Park Plaza are always there to get a taxi and instruct the driver where you need to travel to. If you are looking to do some shopping, by all means go to the tourist shopping areas. But be prepared to haggle/barter for everything as they can see a non local coming a mile off. They will always mark up the price, sometimes by as much as 80-90% of what they would be willing to sell it to you for. Its a very friendly place to learn to haggle if you're not used to doing so, and can be a lot of fun! Found most areas of the city centre to be safe in the day and the night, obviously we avoided any areas that looked dodgy but we felt secure the whole time we were there, even in Patpong in the later hours of the night.

Had a brilliant time at the Park Plaza and will definitely look into staying here whenever I return to Bangkok. Would 100% recommend this hotel to all!

i liked staying here as the rooms were tidy and the staff very helpful .... when we asked about places of interest we were told where they were and what stations to get off at on the sky train ... being a first timer in bangkok they made our experience a memorable one ... it is a 5 minute walk away from the asok station and easy to find your way back as you can see the hotel sign from on top of the sky train station
the rooms are all kitted out nicely and there is small pool on the top of building which we didn t use but looked very clean ....

I've stayed here a few times now in Bangkok and it really is the perfect place for a number of reasons. It is clean, nicely decorated with generously sized and fitted out rooms. Really nice. Secondly, it is in a perfect location, just around the corner from Asok BTS skytrain station and Sukhumvit MRT station. Getting around BKK on the skytrain etc. really is so easy, cheap and fast. There are some street markets around the corner as well as your usual 7/11's and a few bars. The pool also has a nice little rooftop pool and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

I'm there now and thought I would take the trouble to tell you how it is. Beautiful high standard boutique hotel with superb bathroom. Staff all quiet and unassuhotelier a Thai polite wayand very helpful. Good location, 2 mins from sky train and underground. Traffic outside horrendous, don't even think about driving. 11pm and just been in the roof top pool for a cool down, just beautiful

Room Tip: We had a superior room, didnt see any others but ours is beautiful
