“Eat at the Terrace Rim Naam not Sala Rim Naam”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Its the same restaurant but Sala is indoors and has a cheesy dance show. Terrace is on the water, with beautifully lit trees, the breeze, and boat watching. It is the same food. Terrace seems more romantic....

“Just if you like to feel like a tourist”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Not much to say about this top restaurant, food is really not what you are expecting in bangkok, tasteless and not good. The service is also under expectation, the only positive point is the terrace on the river.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

We had a excelente dinner in Sala Rim Naam (Mandarin Oriental Restaurant). We sat outside with a beautiful river view. The food was great and the staff also. Not expensive for what it offers you.
Don't forget to make a reservation.

“An exotic thai food experience”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Its a beautiful experience to reach the restaurant in a traditional thai boat, the lunch buffet was traditional thai food (pls avoid if you are a vegetarian ) and the staff is extremely happy to help you understand and make the right choice. Its a romantic and authentic Thai experience

“High end dinner theatre”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

We joined friends for dinner at Sala Rim Naam in February. The fixed menu consisted of deep fried prawn rolls;grilled chicken satay with peanut sauce; spiced mango salad with soft shell crab; green pork curry with pea eggplant and sweet basil leaves; young tamarind dip of minced chicken and shrimp; herbed prawn in coconut soup with galangal; stir fried vegetables in oyster sauce, stir fried prawns with red chili sauce, kaffir lime leaves, mushroom and green peppercorn; grilled chicken with turmeric and coconut milk; deep fried fish with sweet and sour chili tamarind sauce; steamed rice, and fruit and coconut ice-cream.

The food was good but nothing was exceptional and we had better food elsewhere in Thailand. Despite the extensive menu, portions were not large and later on we had dessert and coffee at Ciao.

Entertainment was very good, but after a time became tedious and we lost interest.

The room is very large and, although well appointed, lacks intimacy. It's very much a dinner theatre venue and experience. In retrospect, I’d prefer to have eaten outdoors and ordered from the a la carte menu. Beware: With wine and cocktails, this is an expensive evening.
