We stayed here for two nights and paid cash on arrival although we had previously booked back in England and secured the room using our credit card. After the two nights we flew to an island where we tried to use our card to withdraw cash but the bank had blocked it and when we rang them they explained that the diamond house hotel in Bangkok had tried to take a transaction of £5,000 and then a further £2,500 (sterling) but both declined.

The staff were dodgy and I would STAY well CLEAR unless you want your credit card cloned or used!!!!!!

Be warned!!!!

Stayed here twice during our trip in Thailand, we stayed for a few days at the start when we arrived in Bangkok and a few days before we left again. 5 minute walk from Khao San Road so your away from the hussle and bussle but still walking distance to it. The rooms were clean and enough room for the two of us. One of the rooms we had, had wee creepy crawly things but they were minute so they didnt really bother me. The lobby in hotel had cheap internet rate, food and drink and the staff were always there and were always helpful. There was a hot tub on the roof too which was lovely to lay in after a day walking around the streets.

We stayed at the Diamond House for 2 nights in Bangkok. Overall it was a pretty good experience. On arrival we took a cab from the Airport which cost 420baht. Our driver had a really difficult time finding hotel, I recommend bringing a map. The location was good, 5-10 minute walk from Khao San Road. The street the diamond house on it very busy and noisy street. The rooms are tiny. 3 of us could hardly fit our backpacks in the room with us. Staff were helpful and took care of all of our requests. Food at the restaurant was excellent and good value. Wifi on computers is 15 baht for 30 mins, but if you have a smart phone ask the front desk for the free wifi password. I wish I had sPlurged on a nicer place after the 14 hour plane ride, but for Thailand standards the Diamond house was very clean, nice and good value.

This place is located 3 blocks from the busy Kao San Rd area so its a little quieter, but still on a main road - Samsen Rd - the rooms are small but well set up and have all the amenities you need - safe, AC, mini fridge, good bed and small but efficient shower/bath. Its got some character and that's a good thing.

the staff is friendly and helpful and although I did not eat there, there is a restaurant too. So its really full on service and in a good area with lots of shopping, bars and cultural sites to visit.

We stayed for 4 nights total and had no problems except for some renovations they were making at the time that involved some noxious paint/varnish smell that lingered though the night. I am guessing that is a one-time thing.

I found my stay here very pleasant, the rooms were of a size decent enough to spread your wings if you are travelling and would also be an ideal place to stay as a couple - what you get for the money is good and there is a nice terraced area on the roof overlooking bangkok for some panoramic images. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and could not help but smile and giggle all day every day. I would stay here again without question.
